This thing is unstoppable. I love luring spitfires into turnfights, or throwing myself into 3v1s and then promptly running out of ammo, having to just bait for teammates until i can find an opening to run back to base and rearm :')

I played both World of Warplanes, and now War Thunder, and in both games, this plane is just incredibly manoeuvrable ! It is like having dogfighting with an Extra 330 against Spitfires, Mustangs and Bf109 !

@Colin Walker yeah man I get what you're saying. But I don't face a lot of those players anymore. And I have rarely got into 1v1s in my Ki-43. They used real teamwork to get the drop on me. One would make a pass and dive out; I would have to dodge him, which would put me in an easy position for the second guy to attack.

I adore this plane. All too often I just get boom and zoomed, I need to learn how to syphon their energy off still, but this is the plane I turn to when I've been having bad games and need some fun in my War Thunder day. It even lobs 2x250kgs in Ground RB if you're into that.

KI 43 is just a stunt plane with guns

never stop making these videos, they are so good at bringing knowledge about planes' weaknesses and strengths of nations we dont play. even though anything you fly look like monster killing machines :D

It feels like the ho-5s got buffed. THey used to suck hard, but recently they've been feeling much better, despite the low HE filler

I still remember my first couple encounters with this thing. I came in with a slight energy advantage, missed my shots and started to climb away. Suddenly tracers were zipping by my cockpit and it was stuck to my tail. I couldn’t believe it was able to catch up like that!

It's actually a lot better than the tempest mk5 but still it compresses a lot at speeds where everyone is normally flying (and taking in mind that plane is a 3000-0m limited fighter you will compress more)

@@Podsy meanwhile you have the F4U 4B at 5.7 while being more 6.3 material than the Spitfire mk22 and the P51H being probably the only propeller plane to have zero problems against early jets, should be 6.7 at least. "America Hardest Nation"

I just started really grinding down the Japanese air tree and as someone who’s primarily US focused the turn rate is just hilarious.

This was the first plane I actually enjoyed flying when I started playing the japanese air tree, the early Type 99 cannons on the A6M's are just garbage, the 12.7mm-Machineguns are also pretty trash and I just didn't enjoy flying the Ki-61's in any way. Ki-43-II otsu carried me all the way to the A7M2, which is where we went seperate ways.

I hated flying the ki61 but I find the type 99 model 1 to serve me well I just need to get a lot closer As for the heavy machine guns they recently got buffed and the stealth ammo on them is cracked at killing planes

Really one of my favourite dog fighters in the game. But it’s true that their rudder is annoying. Inconsistent guns are a problem too. I love doing defensive flying in it tho, A great plane for anti CAS and CAS in GRB

Tracers on those guns are or at least were top tier more fires than 50 cals lol

This plane literally feels like your flying in arcade. Out turning everyone just feels amazing

It's not that slow but it's an absolute ufo

Stealth rounds make this plane a bit more bearable. Granted it makes conserving ammo a bit harder, but on the other hand those stealth rounds actually do damage.

as someone who has close to 4 days worth of flight time in sim for the KI-43-II, i promise both the -II and the -III are MONSTERS in sim battles. nobody can tell what plane your in, which prompts them to turn with you. every single time. get on their six in maybe 4 seconds, and wait until your at around 500-700 meters and you will kill every single time. i have about the same XP earned from my 43-II as my T-2 early, and i play that one quite a bit. over 500 kills with the 43-II alone. not factoring the -III. although pro-tip, you don't even need the -III unless your intercepting bombers or heavy fighters. standard fighters will go down without a sweat with a spaded 43-II. TL:DR, the ki-43-II is unbeatable in sim.

I like the Japanese planes but I do tend to find that games end in one of two scenarios, either the enemy are dumb and your entire team slaughters them instantly or the enemy team are smart, slaughter your team and then you have a very difficult carry on your hands.

Seems like 4.3 is the Holy Bracket, with OP trash like the Yak 9U, I185, the J2M2, the 109 G2, the Ki43-iii, Typhoon mk1B and the Spitfire Mk9. America should have the P51D-5 and the second Hellcat being decent but for some reason both are advisable to skip.

Defyn you are amazing i have learned alot from you and for the sad sacks out there defyn always gets 100 kills before sying anything about the plane check out his f1 vid he clearly says that he does and dont be sad becuz u have bad aim keep trying try to pinpoint ur mistake that will get you far nd thans defyn for your amazing content!

Yes, these guns are not always as good, but at close range and at speeds that let you hit your shells they do more damage than shvaks. Do you plan on making uncommented 'plane highlights' like you used to or people just don't like it that way? could be a good option for the extra footage.

Doesn't really get watched and i feel like it's a waste of gameplay If you don't want you hear me you can always just mute it and run your own music :^)

This thing is virtually impossible to kill in Bf 109 F4. And the best part is - if I even manage to push it down, it'll just move gradually towards AF and before he runs out of energy, we're in AF AAA range, so Ki-43-III can just reclimb and the whole ordeal continues. It's just a horrible thing to fight, no matter what plane I fly - I can't stick on Ki-43-III, I can't hit it in a dive, and I can't really outclimb him either. The only option is to energy trap, but Ki accelerates so fast, I'm barely in range before he starts dodging, and once he does - I can't do anything with MG151/20

Would like to see you do the SM.92, incredible performance for a heavy fighter.

That's why ki-44 is so good. People dive from it, and that thing dives at 900 kph absolutely no problem, and flies insanely fast on the deck. Shame armament is so trash though

The one plane I could not handle.. it's very nimble.. the response time when dogfighting is insane I couldn't handle the roll.. more used to planes like the p51s (cept the 20mm one never flew that one) or 109s.. When ever I see a ki (I just say k i) I ain't dogfighting that thing.. usually I'll wait til a friendly goes after it and then I'll take a pass at it unless he spots then I just keep flying straight.. unless he starts to focus me then I'll start doing some dolphin dive and other things..

Those AA that killed that guy in Britain map are actually cracked, dont get close to them lol

I think that those HO-5 20mm guns are much different from type 99 in i think all of zero's tree. Ki-84 also has HO-5 guns.

Hey defyn, can i somehow send you a video of a 6k game with f104 where i got onto a 1vs2 VSing 2 f5c, i got gaijined cause the missile indicator and itself didn t appear on my screen, infact the enemy still had both missiles
