I just found you last week and I’m so glad I did. I’ve been spinning for 35+/- years and see that I have fallen into a rut. I spin the same fine fingering to lace yarn in natural colors, or something somebody else dyed and prepared. Your videos have sparked a creative flame from dormant coals. I’m going to go back to dyeing my own stuff and blending it on all the fancy tools I’ve acquired over the decades. They are gathering dust and want to be taken out for a spin again. Thank you soon much for your efforts.

Your story is exactly why I make these videos and write my books. Spot on. I'm so happy you have gotten the fire started again and are enthusiastic about spinning again!

I would love to see you do this again with brighter/more contrasting colors to show off the self striping quality of the yarn!! ❤️❤️

Definitely! I have a rainbow version in my book ROVING that really shows off descending width, so you can see those in the meantime. :)

I'm a pre-beginner with all my tools on the way, so total beginner question for you. While you were spinning, I was wondering the same question that you bring up at the end: If you double ply, then you can't keep the cool gradient. So in this case, what was your next step to finish off this yarn / or what should you do in advance? (I'm sure there must be a video for this :) )

What do you do with all your yarn if you don't knit Grace? It's so pretty💖

Thank you ♡ I am hoping to get my husband to build me a triangle loom and try that. I don't particularly swatch or change needles or change yarn weight so when I knit I either do it on the fly or I try and fudge a pattern to fit. It usually is an epic fail. I'm actually tossing around the idea of working with some people to create a gauge-less, measurement (not stitches) based handspun handknit garment pattern book. :)

pretty much everywhere. I find small farmers on Etsy. I've done trades. I buy from paradise fibers. I know some good medium sized vendors too.
