Martin V. Fleming was saved by the Oak tree, now known as the Fleming Oak, and he returned the favor. This story is not well documented and accounts of it vary depending on where you get the info, so I've presented the version of it that I found to be the most interesting which still has some credibility.

Wow, it's nice to know a relative of him, it was certainly awe inspiring being there. My family have told me that story since I was a kid since my family also comes from Comanche, so finally being there was a pleasure. My grandpa also said he was an uncle of our family, but that might just be because he was known as "Uncle Mart".
