That's the best knot there is. I've used it my whole life. Usually, the main line breaks as frequently as the knot

How is that the chinooks in your river system are still feeding on tray/real baits? Is buoy 10 in the Columbia R. like literally right next to the Pacific Ocean? I don’t think I’ve ever seen or know of anyone here in the CA-Delta/Sacramento River region that trolls with tray bait/anchovies. Angler WestTV can you please clarify. Thanks!

Tray bait, usually cut plugged and trolled behind a flasher, is used all the way up to the Portland area--about the same distance from the ocean as Sacramento/SF Bay. The Sacramento is a much smaller river which effects how it can be fished somewhat but mostly I think it's just because tray bait has never caught on in CA. I don't really think there's much difference in what the fish are willing to bite but more the confidence of the fisherman in what they are using. In the Columbia sometimes spinners/Killerfish/Super Baits out-fish tray bait and sometimes they really want bait. It's harder to get good bait these days so being able to get your fish on lures can be a big advantage. When I moved from CA to WA I was blown away by how differently people fish up here. A really good fisherman will make the effort to learn from both regions. Buoy 10 is just the name given by locals for the fishery at the mouth of the Columbia River which will be salt to brackish water. There is an actual Buoy 10 right out on the bar basically, which historically is where lots of people would fish but when someone says Buoy 10 today it just means the general area near the mouth which is a very large area. Because of the mountains on both sides, the Columbia doesn't have true delta like the Sacramento. If it was flat down there, Buoy 10 would be the Columbia's delta.

Very informative show. I especially liked the segments on rigging the spin-fish, stuffing the spin-fish, snelling a hook, and rigging herring. I'm still learning. Any color suggestions to start with for Spin-Fish on the Lower Sacramento and Feather Rivers in Cali?

The Spin Fish aren't out yet so I'm not sure what specific colors will be available but I'd start with something Chartreuse/Chrome and maybe pink and then experiment from there. Speed and scent may be more critical than color.

How come nobody actually ever posts up a scientific study or research paper on what knot beats all other knots to back up the best knot claim?! Where's the gov't study on that? LOL Great video with tons of useful information. The haters can go pound sand.

My only concern is that there will be a plain black SUV with government plates that will drive up to whisk all of you geniuses off to the JPL to work on the manned mission to Mars. Guess it is just a risk we will need to take. 🤡

21 minutes of talking and 1 minute of fishing. You need to step up your videos or at least warn the viewer this is mostly an instructional video with next to no fish catches.

16 years and over 420 episodes and I've never seen a comment like this. I think it's great. Most people like the instructional part of the show. Lots of fishing shows fake a lot of their catching. I won't be doing that but I will do my best to show as much catching as possible. Suppose I could put a warning at the beginning saying that by watching this you might learn something. Thanks for watching.
