Yes groenendael was introduced. Or a black GSD if it has German bloodlines. Also dutch because of the kNVP bloodlines. Of the malinois. Nothing wrong with it. They are still pure breed dogs. Because this was done to perfection.

I have 3 black, one blue, and one bi color. They are rescues, all brothers and sisters. They are the smartest dogs, and the most amazing athletes.

We got our boy in Burlington, CO. A man named Derek, don't remember his last name. He bred them. And if you've ever been in Colorado and you're a regular person not a wealthy snow bunny living in a resort, Colorado is pretty sketchy. My husband bought him and he protects us and intimidates people. Which is fine. We know he would just lick everyone to death with his huge tounge. Lol.

I finally saved enough $ to get a dog I really wanted. (I had put in my time with rescuing dogs.) A Malanois. She was in bad shape. 4 mths old. skin nd bones nd a big belly. I knew she wasn't a healthy dog. But I couldn't leave her there. I got her home nd realized checking on her papers they were fake. I had to help her. Long story short. She is a parvo survivor and had congenital defects. The main vein going to her liver and many blood vessels never opened That's why she had a bloated tummy. the vet drained the fluid nd she is on water pills. Idk how long she has. But we make the most of it. Her energy is low but her heart is strong. Her name is Luna. She is a beautiful red sable. We could use some prayers. Her courage and heart are so resilient. She is amazing.

How is she now?

Our boy is 7 and is half German shep, quarter Dutch shep quarter Malinios. He looks like the BiColor pup in this video. Very sweet. Guards the door with out us telling him too. Basic training with him, no crazy jump on our roof tricks. Lol. Very snuggly. Take care everyone.

It would be great to list the actual color names recognized, such as silver sable, etc.

This is actually inaccurate. Black is not recognized as a purebred Belgian Malinois. It is recognized as a Belgian Malinois to some, but technically, it is mainly from the Belgian Shepherd Gronendael that it gets that color. As for the other colors, the Primary color of a purebred Belgian Malinois is fawn with a black mask. Some variations will have fawn or mahogany with black mask and some with more black overlay over the coat. That "bicolor" dog shown is not a true bicolor as the German Shepherd has bicolar, rather it is merely a fawn dog with more black overlay. Bicolor, black Sable, sable, and solid black are the colors of the working lines German Shepherds. Lastly, black Sable is the color of a Belgian Malinois as well, which mainly comes from its Belgian shepherd ancestry, the Tervuren variation of the breed. Also, there are no Blue Belgian Malinois, and if you find one it is likely a Dutch Shepherd Malinois mix. Also, European working line German Shepherds can also come in blue. However, there are blue Dutch Shepherds. Due to the mixing of Dutch Shepherds, Malinois, and working line German Shepherd in knpv lines, you are more likely to get a variety of colors in the knpv line dogs. They are not recognized by the FCI, but their pedigrees are kept so the lineage of dogs is known, even if they are not considered purebreds. The knpv program does not concern itself so much with color, rather with workability, and if a dog no matter what the color or breed mix is a great producer and worker, then that is what matters. Incidentally, I have seen some true bicolor Malinois, which if you look up a bicolor German Shepherd is a solid black German Shepherd with tan bottom half of the legs and feet. The rest of the body is solid black. If you see a Malinois of this color, then it definitely has a working line German Shepherd in its ancestry even if it's eight or nine generations back, and are from knpv lines. The knpv program is one of the best programs because they are less concerned about pedigrees and more concerned about workability, temperament, and health.

Wanted to say same thing, black malinois isn't a thing - Saw a DNA test being done on one in a vid once, it had rottie, terveuren, cane carso, gsd, napolitan mastiff all in it. Really no such thing as black Malinois. And looking at the Malinois in these vids, really these ears are to big, dogs are too big too. Sadly not many pure malinois lines left.

I love the colors: grey or blue and mahogany. 😎😎

Acceptable colors of purebred Malinois are a basic color fawn in mahogany and tan with a black mask and black ears with some degree of black tilting on the hair, giving a layered appearance. If your Malinois is black, he's got GSD somewhere in the bloodline, as do most Malinois bloodlines and every now and again it pops up.

They are. I have a female and in the sun, they’re gorgeous. They’re not called “blue” or “grey” though. They are silver sable color.

I have a red coat/ black snot female 10mths. She resembles a Belgian but very protective (wouldn’t let other animals or ppl. near me) I put her in training. Now she is obedient but prefers to work one on one.

Any color other than fawn with a black face is not a true. However the different colors are from knpv breeding style and are bred for working ability rather than the AKC cookie cutter Mal's. The KNPV dogs are harder dogs in general. Higher drive.

Funny, but then they're not malinois.

If they are not fawn with black mask. And thin tail they have been mixed at some point.

Are these really Malinois? I thought all Malinois must be bi-colored in Fawn with a black nose?! Are there really fully black Malinois? Or is it a different race? And Are there then also full-colored Fawn too? Without the black nose? We like to find one colored Fawn... anyone that know if that is possible too? Thanks

The standard of the malinois under FCI says that the colour is fawn with carbonnage, dark mask and dark ears. Black or any other colour is not recognized under FCI.

I’m saving my Money for a dog like this but not sure what color to get :) I like all the colors

The " silver one " is a Dutch shepherd anyway. Not a malinois.

My belgain malinois is a very dark BI color.

My girl's a brindle. Supposedly more rare than black.

Vanguard K9 has blue Dutch shepherds x that are knpv style bred for working ability. The x means that they have some Mal in em. My dog is a dark blue. Most people think he's a blue Mal because his brindle is very faint. That full size silver one was a Dutch shepherd not a Mal in the video. Fair warning though these dog's are extremely high drive. They will protect you till there last breath.

Promoting dilutes is great for our breed. Ask me how a woman spent $4,500 for a "blue" mal and it had 10,000.00 wrong with it. We should be preserving our breed. It's a very straightforward unless you want to muddy the waters and ruin them.

Beautiful dogs. I believe that's what my neighbor has. She's a great guard dog. She loves me. But,I wouldn't open the gate, and go in without him there. She's so smart. She's bitten a few people. We're building up to me going over to throw her toy while he's at work. I suggested it because i love her and im afraid shes going to bite the the wrong person sometime. She stopped when I yelled, "Ladybird! NO!" and went back home and stayed there. It was a man walking his pit. She's a sweetie but ladybird was in attack mode. My 14 yr old BC passed in September last year. I can get my dog fix this way and maybe she'll calm down. She sits when I tell her to. Her owner doesn't know what she is. I'm going to suggest he watch this.
