Just like the lighting for animation in general for the industry, this channel is super under appreciated! And ESPECIALLY when you said you have like 4 HOURS to do a scene… like that’s terrifying dude, keep up the good work!!

I think you can use inner shadow for the blue lights to safe more time but not sure if it is turn out as good as frame by frame..

Check out Toniko Pantoja. He's an incredibly good independent animator who has a full animation course for 375$ on Gumroad. His videos on KZread are free lessons though.

It looks like you don’t split up each frame when coloring In photoshop. Then how does it know that you’re on a new frame?

You could do it in half the time if you used either TVPaint or at least nicely set Actions in Photoshop for coloring. Also, having elements/colors rendered separately, you could do most of the general shadows and rimlights with half the effort.

Ok do you have a demonstration of that? I've been using Sprite Illuminator to create a custom normal map that lets me place lights instead of animating the shadows. But a mixed technique is appreciated.

I've been looking for quicker coloring methods for AGES. Best I could find is the lasso fill brush in Krita, but Krita isn't ideal for longer animations. A lasso fill tool is probably the one animation feature that a program could have to instantly win me over. I'm currently looking for an Android animation app that has it, but the developers always seem to assume I make my lineart perfectly closed all the time so I can use the bucket tool. Oh also: I just remembered Blender's Grease Pencil has this quicker way of coloring too, which is why it's my current main program for animation when I'm using my laptop.

Hi! Animation was done on iPad in RoughAnimator. Shadows/lighting was done in Adobe After Effects. Hope that helps! :D

PLease guys i need help. I have to animate a little cartoon as a project in my college but I can't find a way to export my frames in Photoshop as a PNG Sequence ANYWHERE. Could anyone tell me how to do it please??

sadly Krita is even more tricky, it was not made for such things.
