Interesting mods; thanks for sharing. I've got the same XTS and have added a CastMate system as well as an excellent fish finder mounting system. Best wishes for 2018, Don

im gonna hook mine up with LED lights for at night and i was wanting to try to buy two of their frames and weld a 2 person boat together. Not side by side but front and back. I have some big plans in the future lol

Mahalo Big Kahuna, glad you got the mods done, they look great. I too added that top PVC across for footing as well as the two wheels too. Very cool that you found a good deal on the XTS as well

Thanks for the video! I just ordered a normal Colorado for about 300 bucks. I could not bring myself to pay 600 for the xt, especially since I plan on buying a second one for a friend. My question is about your platform and raised seats. I am away from home for a few months and will not be able to add a motor or register the boat until I get home, so I will be stuck paddling. Are you able to paddle with the raised seat? how stable do you feel while standing? are you able to stand and cast for extended periods? Thanks!!

Its hard to paddle with a raised seat. You will need to play with the length of oar handles or raise the oars higher.

@@bigkahunainbama8184 Gotcha. Thanks for your time. Do you think a platform would be of any use directly under a non-raised seat? There could be room to put a foot on each side if I can figure out a way to get from the low sitting seat onto the platform.

@@graham765 I built the platform for standing and so I could hold my tackle boxes under my seat, also if I dropped anything it wouldn't just fall into the water.

Any one try taking the motor mount assembly and putting the whole thing in the holes for the foot rests? A welder could weld brackets for the battery rack to the foot rest tubes so you put the rack in front too so you could stand. Maybe weld up a new battery holder to fit in the tubes where the rack used to go in back.

David Baum not sure what your talking about but anything is possible. For me weight was the issue so using pvc helped keeping the weight down and the boat balanced front to back.

What's the easiest way you found to put wheels on and off from pontoon. It's in a tough location and pontoon is heavy for one person.. Thanks.. Scott Hall

Scott Hall if your trying to put wheels on with stuff in your basket its very hard and heavy. I have to unload my batteries and anything heavy so i can lift it. No easy way to do it!

Big Kahuna in Bama yes I agree with you. Me and my dad have an idea/design to hopefully alleviate this issue. I'll keep you posted or email me at nnuclear77@gmail.com and when we get it done I'll send you pics.

Hey Big Kahuna, Hope your still around,,,, I watched and listened to your video. I just want to make sure of something....How easy is it to get on and off of the Pontoon weighing 300lbs ? I weigh about 295, and I worry about how much these Pontoons can handle. I want one so bad but, just worried about my weight. Your input again would be much appreciated. Nice Pontoon, love the Blue vs Green or Orange. Hope all is well with you.

Aloha Pingman2. I'm 59 yrs young and not has agile or flexible has I once was but it's not that hard getting in and out. The decking that I put on helps a lot and since then I have made more improvements to pontoon. I usually have a pole with me that I use has a anchoring pole, I use it to helps me get in and out much easier. As far as your weight goes, I was over 300 when I first got the boat, since then I've lost a few pounds but I also have added another battery, a bigger trolling motor, bigger deck and a 10# anchor and the boat is fine, so I wouldn't worry about your weight too much. I have also added 2 boat bumpers to front of each pontoon tuck between the pontoon and trolling motor mount. This gave me the ability to stand up and cast without the front dipping to far down, now it pretty much stays level and this is with a heavier trolling motor too. I hope this helps, I need to do another video on all my new mod's but since I lost my wife a year ago things have been put on the shelf for now. Good luck. if you decide to get one of these boats you'll be happy you did, It's the best thing I've ever done and people that see me fishing are always amazed!!
