I lived there for about 8 years many moons ago. Left in 2010 and I’m currently moving back in 2022. I miss it. There’s always been something special about the city even with its huge growth.

Lived there from1964-67 and loved it. I was back on a sentimental visit in June '19 and really disappointed and sad how the town is now. So much I remembered was gone. Other than hipster coffee shops downtown was dead, no businesses. (Of course that's common all over with people moving to the suburbs, malls, etc).

This is an issue across the entire United States right now. I think that lots of people seem to forget that the springs is actually a big city. Living there does give you that small town vibe at times but it’s ranking high on the city list.

Seems like people were flocking to Colorado Springs in the 80s and 90s. Did they all leave? Something seems off if Colorado Springs has to advertise to bring people in. I've heard of cases where people went on vacation and came back and the squatters that were in their house had more rights than they did, at least for a period of time. I thought I might move there one day but it looks like I have some research to do first. This just feels off ...

Yeah it seems off because this movie is framed from your experience and stories about squatters lol! This is advertising for real estate, any good company would do something like this as promotion. I think that can happen in thousands of places across the us, depending upon the laws.

Sure it’s beautiful and it’s mountainous, but it takes 45 minutes to drive anywhere, the roads are made of potholes, the city planning isn’t designed very efficiently and will always remain a tourist trap that is over capacity. Want an outdoor oasis with efficiency and everything good in mine, the I-15 corridor in Utah has it. SLC, Ogden, Provo, Sandy. As a Colorado Springs local, trust me, Utah is what you want.

The last few years the center dividers on Union and elsewhere looked unsightly (weeds grow thru it) because they’re not in the city center. The city center gets all the money and the rest of the city is just well... not taken care of.

Crime is increasing all over Colorado. Read this October 2022 report by Common Sense Institute: “This report is based on crime data that is publicly available and verifiable as of September 2022. The continued increase in crime throughout Colorado is troubling. There seems to be a direct correlation between criminal justice reforms that have made punishments for committing crimes less severe and allowed more criminals back on the streets. Predictably, the number of crimes and crime rates have escalated. Crime in Colorado has increased substantially since 2008. Over the last 14 years, the overall crime rate has continued its steady and inexorable climb, increasing 1.4% per year on average. Denver, Aurora, and Pueblo, mid-sized cities, rank at the top in several crime categories. Denver’s homicide rate rose this year, even as other major cities have seen declines. Overdose deaths, fentanyl, have increased. The amounts of fentanyl and marijuana seized by law enforcement have risen substantially.”
