EPIC Overlanding Movie || Colorado Backcountry Discovery Route

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Mike, McKaley, and I venture out to the Colorado Backcountry Discovery Route. What I can say is easily the most beautiful off-road driving we have ever done. We traversed the trail backwards. Immediately after finishing the Colorado BDR, we started the Utah BDR, and this made the most sense to us because it would shorten our drive back home to Washington. This film shows you what the Backcountry Discovery Route has to offer, through the valleys, alpine meadows, towering passes, and through the ghost towns and mines that still stand to this day. This is an area that off-road adventurers should absolutely spend time in.
It is important for us to mention that the wildlife filmed in this are done so by telephoto lenses, as to not disturb them.
Thank you so much for watching! Stay tuned the for Utah film as well!

That is an incredible comment! Thank you so much and I wish I saw this earlier. It's crazy to me the little amount of camera gear we brought on this trip and were able to capture what we got. We have invested so much into my media business that future videos should be even better! I really appreciate you watching!

Awesome trip an epic cinematography. I’m guessing that the High speed water crossings probably stirred up a lot of gravel and mud and got lodged in the brakes causing the rotor and pad damage. ZR2 performed well it looks like. I have a long bed Z71 with the Duramax. I’d like to get out on some easy adventures in it this summer.

This is funny being FROM Colorado and living in washington seeing washington natives in Colorado enjoying all the places i grew up with is awesome. Some of those mountain passes were once railroad grades on the Denver Southpark and Pacific (DSP&P)RR others were southern Pacific RR and some were Denver & Rio Grand RR my grandpa was an engineer for D&RGW RR and ran trains over those passes .... theres a great book about the mtn passes and the DS&PPRR called "Goin Rail Roading" i think the authors name was cole its very interesting history of the area and a bio of a RR engineer

Looks like fun! Just some friendly tips on the video production…I would recommend editing the b-roll down farther and not using slow-mo so much. And you’ll want to increase the ratio of commentary/conversation. Long stretches of film without someone speaking begins to feel like a music video. Your camerawork and compositions however are well done. Keep it up! And the best of luck on growing your channel!

Thanks. I think everyone’s style certainly differs. I believe in media production, everyone should certainly rely on their own style when producing their own films. Similar to artwork. When I work with clients, I lean into producing their vision. But when it’s mine, I want it to feel like it’s mine.

The type of driving you do, I would highly recommend premium rotors and because of the type of train you do I would highly recommend carbon fiber, ceramic brick pads. But just because you have grooves in your rotor, you will be perfectly fine. More than likely you got some debris stuck between your pads in your rotor which caused the grooving in your rotor. As long as you have plenty of pads on your brake pad, he will be perfectly fine.

I’m going to watch the rest of this. I’m sure it’ll be great footage and I’ll probably end up doing the same trip if I’m fortunate enough. But I must say that the casual and excessive use of words like “explore” and “conquer” by us overlanders when traveling WELL TRODDEN and maintained roads with satellite maps and tons of info ahead of time just doesn’t sit well with me. We’re not exactly James Cameron exploring the deepest part of the ocean or Neil Armstrong or the first Polynesians sailing to Hawai’i. Maybe we can just turn down our grandiose language a notch or two. Your life you do what you want with it, obviously. But there is a comment section and all engagement is good for the channel right? So this is my contribution 🤙🏽
