My mother was a professional artist and teacher of art, and you remind me so much of her. You have the wonderful ability to express yourself so clearly with words along with your wonderful visuals. I learn so much from you, and I thank you so much for the time I know it takes you to share with us. Elizabeth

Thanks Lori, the glazing trick looks a really good effect, I've used the brown and blue to colour hair on a geisha girl and was really pleased with the effect, and the afmat sharpener is just what I need for a set of 12 Lyra REMBRANDT art specials I received as a Christmas present. Three are too big to fit my normal sharpeners and have a 5mm core and came unsharpened. :-)

I watch all of your videos, and usually learn quite a few things. You lost me on this one tho. I know it's not said, but definitely implied, that you drew that picture of the fire. Adding to that implementation, you add colors on top, then say how the paper has no more tooth. Could that be because it is something like magazine paper? It is clearly a photo of some sort that you are "glazing over". I already know the out, saying it is a video about glazing. I get that, but on multiple occasions, and in multiple ways, you imply that you just drew that fire. Like I said, I watch every video and will continue to do so, but this one is kind of pushing the limit.

  • @FernCurtis

Not 100% sure what you meant by her “pushing the limits on this one”. What I can say is, that she did the main part of the fire off screen because as she mentioned in this video, she had already done a video on how to do fire. So she is not going over some sort of photo. What she wanted to focus on was the glazing part. So, she was not exactly pushing any limits.

That's a huge compliment. Thank you. I drew it. I was using NeeNah Bristol Vellem. That's my go to paper for doodling or pictures I know I am not going to keep. For all intensive purposes it's pretty good and cheap. I love drawing hyper real fire. I have a video showing how I do it start to finish. kzread.info/dash/bejne/aIyrp9yegdHLn8o.html That video I was doing it in a coloring book and bound by the sketch that was given me. This one I used a reference photo and free handed it.

@@FernCurtis Exactly. I started the picture at night and worked all through the night into the next day. Fire take forever to render and doesn't get hyper realistic until the end so as the song goes "I skipped to the good part". I may do another fire video to show my steps but not now. I have a lineup of things I want to do to get my channel going in the direction I want.
