🇲🇽 COLONIA SIDE of Puerto Morelos, Mexico | What it is and why we love it so much?!!

Today we are going to show you what the Colonial Side of Puerto Morelos is like and why we love it so much.
After we show you our daily walk to the beach side we're going to take you for a walk around the Colonial side of Puerto Morelos. On our way back to the Colonial side, we came across a crane and an alligator. We were wondering if there were alligators in these waters and now we know. There is also a bus/colectivo stop by the highway that passes through Puerto Morelos.
This is footage from several days worth of walking which we enjoyed because of how friendly everyone was. The Colonial side is where you will find two grocery stores, most of the residents and several expats, the veterinarian we used for Cinders, the medical facilities, lots of cute bodegas, schools, and the mayor’s office.
Since this is such an affordable area, people on a budget, like us, can afford to stay here and enjoy the tropical area without breaking the bank. We recommend getting your hands on a bike and riding around looking at everything over here. There's a lot more space to write around in and it has a small town feel to it that makes it stand out from other towns.

Who we are...
We are Cindy and Eddie from Pennsylvania. We started our KZread channel in April 2020 after the world took a pause. Since then, we’ve been working to find ways to travel full time on a budget, with a cat. Meet Cinders, a 19 year old black cat with the calmest personality you’ll meet in a cat. She goes where we go, and we want you to go with us too. Enjoy our videos as we show you what we find along the way.
Our first trips were local to our area, Bucks County, and limited to days we weren’t working full time jobs or being restricted by lock-downs. In November of 2020, an opportunity presented itself and we decided to take our Travel Trailer out of storage and travel full time across America. Our current goal of visiting all 50 states has been delayed, but we haven’t given up. Keep following along to see what we're up to next.

We love Puerto Morelos. Been there more times than I can count. Love Mexico and the culture. Been to many small towns but we just love this one the most.

Dawn and Greg are good people and it's cool to see them chime in. You got me as a new subscriber. It's surreal seeing you walk the same streets as I have. I am actually planning my 4th trip there in under 2 years. It will be trip #2 for my 8 year old daughter, who actually ate lunch with Dawn and Greg!!! Ok I did the eating while she fed stray dogs rotisserie meats and gave the owner of the popular Colonia foodery heart palpitations.

Make sure you go to PM on a Saturday so you can experience the market. I don't know what the schedule is, but Saturdays are always fun either way. Let us know how it goes.

Great video! The food looked delicioso 👌I’m considering renting in the pescadores/puntarena area on the other side of the highway so I can bike easy to the beach but also still close to taquerias. How was the walk to the beach? Was it enjoyable in the morn or eve? Thks for sharing 🙏

Thanks for watching. The walk is great when the sun hangs low. Otherwise, it can get pretty hot. We loved it though. Sounds like you've got a great location picked out. An easy commute for a bike in either direction.

Different places have different prices, but ours for the month was $600. We've seen as low as $400 and it's can get pretty expensive closer to the ocean.

I stayed in this house about a week ago. Not my favorite. Cold water. Terrible mattress. No table or end tables by the bed. No place to hang out outside. Good location though. Thanks for the great video.

Thanks for the feedback. You'll find that there are lots of places in Mexico that have cold water and bare minimums. But you can't beat the price and location. I guess we just got used to the cold showers, lol.
