Do you disagree that the players should get a cut of the billions that others are making off their efforts? For me, I say it is about time! And look, listen… does it seem weird that players will essentially be employees now? Yes. But it is the only way you can stop the current NIL and transfer portal mess. In the long run, it will be structurally better for all involved once the shock wears off. Now there will need to be an enforcement of rules that every member institution agrees to follow. Things like a salary cap come to mind in order to level the playing field so the haves can’t just buy all the good players up.

😮 So all of this so called "paid back money"going back to 2015/2016 should be paid "based on that players number of games which they Played IN" along with how many of those games that they help to WIN. So if players won X amount of games then they get paid if they played on those games..if those same players played in those games BUT lost then No Money should be paid. Why should past players get paid for either just standing on the sidelines not playing in the games or either playing in games where WINS DIDN'T HAPPEN...why should past losing players get PAID ANYTHING..why should those guys get paid to lose..that's absolutely WRONG🤔 If we are going to treat them as employees then why in the hell do we PAY or reward a BAD EMPLOYEE seems that going back 10 years to 2016 or 2015 based on whenever these regulations get changed within the next 12to24 months for getting PAST PLAYERS PAID will be opening up more and more lawsuits between past players and their past universities. So in oder to prevent more lawsuits it all should be settled by a judge stating that EVERY PAST PLAYER THAT PLAYED EVEN JUST 1 PLAY DURING A WINNING GAME GETS PAID $1K DOLLARS FOR WINNING THAT SAID GAME. BUT if that SAME PLAYER HAVING PLAYED JUST 1 PLAY BUT IN A LOSING GAME THAT PLAYER DOES NOT GET PAID ANY MONEY FOR HIS SERVICES. We should NEVER PAY for negative services..losing games are negative services..hell then why not reimburse the FANS TICKET PRICES whenever their team loses..that sounds just as idiotic as paying past players that played on losing teams.😮

At risk of sounding like a boomer… won’t this potentially cause a lot of resentment. I’m all for giving players some pocket change. Same way a regular student can work while going to school for some beer money so should a football player. That said, if we’re talking 100k+ I could see an issue. So your average Joe has to take out big loans to attend school. A football player not only gets to go for free, not only gets special perks (chef, facilities etc.) now on top of that they’re getting 6 figure incomes? Not saying they don’t deserve it, but a huge part of college football is the the bond between students/fans and the players. I’m concerned this may cause a lot of resentment.

This will certainly not be the death of college football. But, it could end it for some programs. At least as we know it. IMO this will accelerate the separation of the elite teams / conferences and everyone else. Many schools simply won't be able to pay the 20 million. And if they opt out, how can they hope to compete with the Bama's, UGA's, etc. Lou is right, college football Saturday is still going to be great like it always has been at the top level. The question really is what does this do to all of the smaller programs. Not to mention the other college sports. From a business perspective, this adds 20 million in costs, but does not increase revenue. So schools will need to raise prices and / or cut costs to off set it. That could mean cutting other sports, firing administrative personnel, etc. etc. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Carolina Jackpot’s team will loose any quality player they have next year when Universities start paying players. There Athletics Director is horrible. He couldn’t raise money even selling girls Scout cookies. They have already lost a lot of 5 star players and let me tell you they didn’t have many. That school and their NIL could not rub two pennies together. They’re poor then dirt.

Lou, Canes fan here, just wondering, back in the day Miami could not afford shit to pay players (although we tried). We now have a pretty good NIL program that is on par with ALL the best football universities in the country. Does this mean that, again, the bigger state schools will who have more of a budget, will kill us again? I think Miami fans feel like we can finally compete with the BIG10 and SEC paying players. Down the road, I am not sure how this will affect our chances as a small private school. Any comment on this? Thanks, Lou. Love your channel!

Lou I don’t think they’ll be able to put a cap on CFB for a few reasons. For one CFB has always been elitist and always will be so parity in CFB will never happen like it did in the NFL. Two I think the genie is out the bottle and they will fight to not let big time collectives or individual NIL deals go away. I’m not exactly sure how it will all work out but some salary cap shouldn’t happen. That will try to create something that won’t happen and it will go back to the days teams will go back to paying players under the table again. Yeah for some that’s okay bc as long as they don’t see it then it’s okay but it’s not

Such a weird take on people who are opposed to this So because you liked something you're okay with exploitive business practices? Also people are so stupid, everytime something is new there is a period of chaos. That chaos isnt permanent, this is the beginning of the new normal after the transition from a chaotic period Look at the first home owners in America back when it was founded versus today Look at the crypto rush when it was unsanctioned There are so many different scenarios you can point to show the chaotic evolution of something that is remarkly different once it becomes regulated Not everything will be perfect but it wont look like it's looked in 3-5 years from now

Since it’s such a moral imperative to pay players because they are “the reason the colleges make so much money”. Then I guess all of those that participate in net negative revenue sports should have to pay the university. This is all so stupid. Whenever Texas and the other usual suspects win all the titles forever tell me how happy about it people will be. Makes the game cheap. And everyone will forever say “your team only won because they bought all the best players”. And that sucks. This whole assumption that they make money off of their name was always a lie. If Caleb Williams played for Idaho st. no one would have cared. Let’s call it what it is. The guys with the most money win. If that’s what we want then yay. This isn’t about players getting paid this is about the richest teams getting what they want to stay rich. Hook em

@@gabeswitala2292 clemson lsu, as of recent. Even teams like that will be out of the mix. Sorry I just don’t wanna see titles being won by 5 schools forever and all the other teams being desperately behind them. You allow Texas’s athletic department to start paying players at free will and they will have ALL the best players. Will that be ALL the titles, no. But it will amount to a lot. I’m the biggest Texas fan in the world but I don’t want them to win like that. There has to be limits. There are limits in all other sports so hopefully some will be imposed here somehow. Guess we will see how it turns out. Clemson is new money and lsu is a one off in 20 years and really hasn’t challenged for the SEC much. If you think they are usual suspects the. You must be 25 years old. Please don’t be naive. We all know who can operate in this environment and there aren’t many.

Colleges paying the athletes...this is gonna hurt the academic students and families,,who are already struggling to put their kids through school,,,tuitions, housing, food programs, all those prices will rise,,also all ticket prices, concessions, at these sporting events all will rise...believe me the schools are not gonna lose money, those cost will just be passed on to the consumers and non athletic students....its BS...at the point the schools pays the athletes then said athlete should be responsible for their own housing, tuition, food cost...if they wanna be payed like an adult, then they should pay adult bills...
