What really interesting is that Tom Brady is at his best when under appreciated. In High School he starts only because the quarterback from the previous years quits. At Michigan he 9th on the depth chart, has to work up to 2nd string where he almost beat Brian Griese for his starting job but is told that a tie goes to upper class men. Has to fight off Drew Henson who every booster wanted to take over and is yanked back and forth on the bench. Drafted 199 goes to New England with an established still reasonably young Quarterback. Has to fight his guts off to make the roster as 4th qb. Works up the chain in 2001. Played every game for 20 years like he was gonna get benched if he didn’t play well. Belichick’s under appreciation and that of others Gave Brady his edge. It’s what he had to have to work the long hours, to make up for lack of raw physical athleticism. Without it, with everyone in Tampa, including coaching staff kissing his A*s, Brady will still be productive, but he’ll not be the same Brady, the GOAT Brady. It like the Beatles after the breakup, the members were reasonably successful, but they were never as great as when they were together

@@anindya9471 look am really a Pittsburgh Steelers fan- HUUGE FAN! 2ND, i do respect Tom Brady. He's earned my respect from '06 leading Peyton Manning's Hall of Fame team 21-3 in the playoffs, even though Brady lost. He's mostly done more with less. With his rings, he deserves to be in Tampa Bay. Tampa has the D and has some talent on offense. Having said that, Tom Brady is gonna be 43 yrs old. You know how hard it is to do that in professional sports, mich less FOOTBALL? Listen, Drew Brees has broken all sorts of records in his 40s and even his body broke DOWN in the playoffs last season. Brady is one injury away from Career being over. What if his body does a Peyton Manning and he ages before our eyes. I think it's naive to think this is the same Pats Tom Brady of 3-5 yrs AGO. Hey, he may succeed in playoffs may be Super BOWL?? But what if he doesn't? Just be realistic. Do u understand NOW?

It's 100% both. The biggest thing for Tom (aside from the roster moves) was the assurance of 2 guaranteed years in his contract. Bill would only stand firm with the year-to-year approach, which isn't a bad option......But for Tom signified that there wasn't full confidence in him going forward. I don't honestly believe he'll win another SB, but Tampa Bay is the best option going forward and at the very least his statistics will improve for a couple more seasons. When the dust settles and the end finally comes.....He'll return and retire officially as a Patriot.

I think the age old question “who should get more credit, Tom Brady or Bill belichick?” Is a ridiculous question... if it wasn’t for Bill, Tom may not have even played In the NFL. Bill also wouldn’t have as many/ or any super bowl rings he has without Tom.. Bill has a great system. He finds a lot of talent where few are looking. Whether that is the draft or Free agency, The patriots do not sign big name free agents usually, if they do it’s on a 1 or 2 year deal so that the patriots aren’t tied up in a high risk/ high reward contract like the Rams with Todd Gurley are. (Revis 1 year deal, Chris long 1 year deal, jabaal sheard 2 year deal, Brandon cooks 1 year deal, Marcellus Bennett 1 year deal, Antonio brown 1 year deal.) Bill scouts a lot of intangible traits over talent. “How hard does a player work? how do they work with others? Are they team first?” Other teams value talent more and that player just doesn’t workout on other teams for multiple reasons. Bill has said before, it’s not about having great players but how great your players play as a unit; something along the lines of that. Bill has a business side to him that makes him as great of a GM as he is a coach.. he will not pay more than a player is valued is what I have noticed. If he signs a long term deal with a player, he gets what he paid for. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the patriots tied up in superstar contracts and not see results.. the superstars Bill has signed, aren’t dependent on other positions as much. (Gilmore who is man) the jets spent a boat load of money on Le’Veon Bell, but without the line like he had in Pittsburg, he doesn’t have time to use that vision and now they use up a lot of cap and can’t pay for good lineman and can’t afford to move on from Bell. I think this has played into Tom Brady wanting you leave and holding some of Tom Brady’s greatness back in a way. Brady has never really been a big numbers guy... only a few season In his career has Tom really been the guy that dropped back and had time to launch a ball downfield to a star receiver. I would argue Randy moss in 07 and the 12 patriots are the only teams to really be lead by a good offensive... other than that we’ve seen a good defensive team with an alright offense lead by a quarterback who takes care of the ball, makes the right decisions, and wins games while taking pay cuts. I think it was that Time in Toms career he wanted mote than Bills system. He wants to have a Peyton Manning or Drew Brees powered offense that he hasn’t gotten in New England. Tom wants to be in control on the field I’m sure, and without talent around you, he is hoping his defense can make a play from the sideline... I think at 43, Tom can throw for 4500 yards and 35 TDS, but don’t be surprised to see them not in the Super Bowl... there is a reason Brees, Manning, Rodgers, and many other quarterbacks with good numbers, didn’t play in many superbowls... Bill wanted to Trade Brady and keep Garapollo and Kraft stepped in. I think both parties won! Bill will get to start building another dynasty with his system.. and Brady will finally get those offensive weapons he’s been wanting for years and taking pay cuts for. He is also making 25 mil Garunteed on a 2 year deal in Florida with minimum taxes... which is money he sacrificed in New England.

I'd say Lebron is definitely concerned with legacy take his quote about chasing a ghost in Chicago. Going back to Cleveland when there were myriad teams with better talent. Plenty of other examples. Jordan I definitely agree with. Went to baseball and came back and played for the wizards.

What article are you talking about?? Who said bill didnt appreciate him?? Bill absolutely appreciates brady...bill has said it. Brady has made his job easier, brady helped create the patriot way, brady and bill were a partnership. They both appreciate eachother. Just because bill woulsnt give him 2 years or extend him to 45 does NOT mean bill didnt appreciate him. This is football. It's a business. This happens all the damn time. Players move on to new teams regardless of who you are and what you have done. Jfc. Since when does everyone get so damn butthurt that a player is moving on? Yes brady is the goat...but hes played for the same team for 20 years. 20. For bill belichick. You know how hard that must be? And if you know anything about Brady, he constantly wants to learn, he constantly wants to challenge himself, he said it himself, he had accomplished all he could in new England. There was nothing left for him to accomplish there. Moving on to a new team after 20 years at age 43 has never been done..specifically to a team that has the worst win percentage. This will be his greatest challenge yet, and that's got to be so exciting for him. Way more exciting than the same ole same ole every single day...if i was Brady I would be ecstatic..it helps that he has some amazing weapons to play with too...I'd be like a kid on christmas..I'm sure hes dying to get to work with his teammates...I hope it works out for him.

Brady wanted to move on, he still has some thing he can accomplish. 1. When he plays the Patriots he could be one of the few to beat all 32 teams. 2. If he wins a super bowl with Tampa not only will he be one of the few to win a SB with two different team but the only man in NFL history to win a SB in a AFC conference and NFC conference. Just a thought.

Colin's aim is off when it comes to discussing Brady and Rodgers. When it comes to legacy, the only difference between the two is Rodgers speaks honestly about how his legacy is perceived. Brady is completely dishonest when he says he doesn't care about his legacy. You can't constantly talk about how you want to play until you're 45 or 48 if you didn't care deeply about your legacy. Tom has always been coy in his interviews and he was once again in the Stern interview. I'm surprised Colin hasn't figured this out. Biting your tongue and not speaking your mind openly and honestly only obscures the real Brady.

Tom Brady doesn’t care about legacy, he just wants to play forever. For those fans who do care about Brady’s legacy, it’s forever tarnished when he left the Patriots to another team......let’s face it, Tom should’ve retired after that story book ending in Super Bowl 51

People just can’t seem to wrap their heads around Brady simply needing a new challenge. Brady & Belichick literally accomplished all they could together. Now they can both try and accomplish something different. I don’t think ever felt unappreciated in the organization. He’s said it over and over yet people can’t wrap their heads around it. If he’s looking for any sort of appreciation it’s from the NFL & it’s media as a whole. Those are the ones who don’t show the appreciation. All this is are people deflecting their lack of appreciation of Brady onto the Patriots because they can’t say it’s actually them. The chip on his shoulder is from all the haters and the ones that say he can’t do something. All the people that didn’t choose him. The Patriots gave Brady his opportunity to flourish. Believe me.. Brady loves that organization and it was simply his time to move on.

The coaches didn’t send out those allegations for no reasons. That’s why Bill wanted to Keep Jimmy G and get Brady to work out with him, but Brady said F that this my spot and now this time they finally ran him out of NE , but if we lose drastically this upcoming season it’s on bill just like the second SB to NYG & the SB to Philadelphia.

Gregory Post To get rid of Brady after the great regular season he just had is laughable. In all honesty if I were him I’d feel betrayed. Each time when he was asked about his possible retirement his response was I’ll retire when I suck. The AFC title game in KC He was asked something like if it was possible if they would lose and he said no and that he was the baddest mf on the planet. He still is that guy. They didn’t try to keep AB out of his trouble just gave him the old pep talk of how we do things after AB went it was truly a wrap on our season. I didn’t wanna believe it but that scenario alone proved it.Bill didn’t try to get any more offensive weapons drafted two injury prone WR’s like .
