I totally disagree. An Intex XTR is the way to go, and then install it CORRECTLY. So many of these "popup pools" fail because of completely WRONG installation and maintenance.

We found that mixing / pre-dissolving our pool shock packet with 4-5 gallons of warm water in a bucket and then tossing the contents of the bucket into the middle of the pool kept the liner perfect. Being pre-dissolved prevented any fallout or settling of the shock, and allowed it to be re-dispersed throughout the whole pool by the pump and filter much faster.

We have this same pool. It lasted us four summers. It started wearing down this summer. It all started when I'd walk by & find small dot like holes spraying water. Then the rope that wraps around the bottom started to fray and pull away which caused a large tear. It's held together with patches at this point, but it gave us four great years.

@@The5MFamily I was too honestly for the last 4 years and I found a salt system on clearance at the end of the summer and switch last year and was the best move ever. It regulates the chlorine and saved tons of money on chlorine tabs, shock, and clarifier. I love it was pretty much plug and turn on and self adjust the chlorine based on what your water is doing. Took about 12 bags to start and then i added maybe 3 or 4 additional bags throughout the summer when it would tell me starting to get low. Much easier on the kids eyes also helped as my 8 year old lives in the pool all summer 😀

Our pool is a saltwater pool. I love it. No chemicals and stays so clear. We’re in PA and we get very cold also. In the winter I pull my hoses, valves, salt system and pump off and put in storage through winter and just leave my sand filter out with foil over it. I also take my 6 way valve off and put it in storage. I always worry about it cracking from the freezing weather. I just ordered a Hayward wide skimmer to put in the side of the pool to help get the leaves and bugs out easier.

The ladder kills me lol. I saw your first video and you specifically stated that the ladders that come with the pools suck and rust out and then you would have to drain the pool. I figured you would keep (even your modification ladder) only temporary. Yet you tried it again and got the rust result. Also it took you longer to put that damn ladder together then to install your whole pool! Darn that dang ladder! I have noted under no circumstances that I will ever use the ladder that comes out of the box with the pool. Glad you got a freeze BTW so you could review with the freeze. That was definitely a review I was looking for (mid westerner here) . Thanks for the videos! ❤

These are good pools and worth every penny. One big tip, trash the filter that comes with it. Buy a 2500gph pump. It's way overkill. I have the 18x48 pool. I can hold the output hose and it about shots out the other side. But it cut my chemical usage by more than half. I literally have a circular current in my pool 🤣

We have this same pool, easy to set up and pretty easy to keep clean with a salt water pump, but even with storing it inside every winter,we have had rusting problems with the metal pipes in the liner sleeves in the top of the liner. There is a warranty, but you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get colman to honor it. They finally did send us a new pool.and yes the ladder rusting was a problem as well. Double check that you're balancing your water correctly. Incorrect balanced chemicals are the #1 cause of any pool metal rusting. We do not store out Intex over winter. We just drain, take the legs off, drop it to the ground and cover with a winter cover.

It absolutely DOES require something under the legs. You MUST have pavers under each leg. MUST. If Coleman does not include this in their instructions, that's a failure. ALL above ground pools MUST have pavers embedded into the ground under structural supports. ALL, and these pools are NO exception. 12x12 pavers are the best. Raise and lower the pavers as needed to level the TOP supports. Be sure to protect the pool liner from the pavers with a ground cover.

Howdy fellow Texan! During these hotter months, I check my chemicals daily. Add chlorine and PH up OR down based on what my chemicals look like. During the summer months you may need to add chemicals 2-3 times a week. Make sure you are also bashwashing often, and especially after you add chemicals. Have a good robotic vacuum, and run that almost daily. Netting the pool daily also helps prevent things floating to the bottom. Hope this helps! Let me know if I can help any other way.

Maybe when you’re shocking the water, put all the dry shock powder to the pool and when you see it settles on the bottom, help disperse it with a bottom brush and brush the bottom all the time until the shock completely disperse. Btw I don’t agree with whoever said you need to throw it in the center. It’s hard without you falling in lol, and it won’t evenly disperse. Pour it all around the edges near the wall. Walk around it and pour the powder shock around the edges. Other thing you can do is pour slowly shock powder into the skimmer while the pump is running. That way the pump will circulate the shock evenly around the water. Key think is “slow”. If pouring it through the skimmer, do it very slowly.

I bought a 22 ft Coleman pool from Walmart 3 yrs ago. Within 8 months all the poles were rusting and Coleman refused to honor their warranty because I didn't have a "store receipt." I ordered it online, I had all the paperwork from Walmart and even contacted Walmart about the receipt and they gave me duplicates of everything. Coleman would not accept them! And my ladder rusted out the first season. My chemicals were properly balanced, we had them checked by our local pool store every 2 wks, so hbic3 is incorrect about the reason for the ladder rusting. And that certainly did not explain why the outside poles rusted out within 8 months! BTW, I live in SWFL, so no freezing here.

For the last 40 years I have always had a pool. When my kids were smaller I bought the more sturdy pools such as a Doughboy. The last Doughboy I had was over 20 years old and NEVER had so much as a liner replacement! Along came a hurricane and took it out. KIds are grown now so I bought the Coleman Pool just for me. For the money, Its not a bad deal. Mine is 4 years old now. If I ever have to replace it, I will take the new legs and the top rail to someone who can powder coat the insides to prevent the rust! Believe me, it WILL happen! I never ever hooked up the cartridge filter because I knew that was only blowing smoke and actually never unboxed it. They are useless and I hooked up the sand filter to mine too! This is coming from my pool lady that taught me......NEVER USE THAT SHOCK in those small packets!! Worse mistake that you can do! If you have a pool supply close by, most sell the liquid chlorine in the 2 1/2 gallon jugs....I put a half a jug in my pool one to two times a week (Depending on the temp, heat) along with the 2" chlorine tabs in a floater! Tada, DONE!!! If you have alot of rain and need to adjust the PH balance, baking soda (at Sams in the huge bag) or muratic acid depending on which is needed! If you ever have to SHOCK your pool, use 2 to 3 jugs of the liquid chlorine with NO GUNK in the bottom of the pool! Thats it, I have never had a problem with my pool and its the least of my daily maintenance. Good luck and best wishes!

Thank you for the suggestion on the liquid chlorine. I've never used it before so was unsure of the effectiveness. I.will for sure be trying this. Thanks again.

My husband mixes the chlorine in a bucket with water until it’s dissolved and then puts it in.

@@The5MFamily thank you for your tips! I was telling my husband about your ladder rusting because we are in the process of putting a deck up and planned on using the ladder it came with but I think we will get stairs after this year.

I would 100% do that! It isn't worth the pain, and from what I've heard it isn't uncommon.
