Howdy! We are the Mathis family. Our channel is all about our family of 5 and our simple life in Texas! We live north of Ft Worth on a small 1 acre property. We have chickens, a garden, raise our own pigs for meat, as well as meat chickens!
We enjoy camping, hunting and fishing. We are a very active outdoor family.
We also run a small part time taxidermy business that has grown a lot the last few years! It keeps us very busy during hunting season.
We look forward to sharing our lives through KZread this coming year. We have several projects we will share and also our daily lives.

I just bought the same pool and want to buy a better filter pump. If I purchase an Intex filter will it fit the hoses for the pool?
Yes, they are all interchangeable!
Walker Farm Fam is one of my favorite channels. Out of a whole group of channels who have become friends over the years. I’ve never seen a negative thing on their channel. Love love love the Walker family.
Would you use that mixture on a wooden porch deck?
Looks great God bless be safe love ya'll ❤️ 😊
That's a great price! It looks pretty nice 👍
No. You are attaching to nothing. Because the rest of the floor is pressed wood. It will tear out and fall. You must go horizontal and out blocking under edges from joist to joist. Not in middle.
Beautiful Patio Furniture ❤❤
Those look so nice
Nice furniture. Are those roses behind you at the end? They're beautiful.
I Cannot IMAGINE who or why Anyone would say Anything nasty about the Walkers because they are Honestly some of the kindest humans on KZread and Ransom is just the CUTEST LITTLE MAN EVER BORN!!❤❤❤
Agree Walkers are good family…so sad how people on internet can be so nasty👍thanks for sticking together😄😀
Nice.patio furniture!!
Looks like a nice set of furniture.
Hi from WFF!
This whole thing is so scary to me. Someone just gave us a pool and I'm brand new to the whole thing. But I'm starting to feel better. Thank you!
I checked it out on Amazon. Great price!
What kind of warranty does it have and does it cover if it fades severely? If not please let us know at the end of the season about how it withstood the sun.
Great question! I am not sure about the warranty. My plan in to put mine under a covered area, because I know keeping it out will cause fading and breakdown faster.
Thanks for the review you always do an amazing job!
Coming over from Walker Farm Fam!
Ground pork, pork sausage, bacon, pork chops... It's going to be good to taste the fruit of your labour once again. Glad you guys are okay, and tornadoes haven't hit your home. Have a good time at the water Park.
You've been a blessing to a lot of people keep it up and don't quit God has a reason for everything
I've researched this because I am putting up an 18' pool. My area is cleaned and rotor tilled. Still leveling. From what I read sand should only be in a thin layer a thicker layer will cause footprints on the bottom as poile walk and compress the sand. On liners, Amazon has a few armor-all, Gorilla and some brands I don't know. They also sell them cut to size and an extra thick one. Most anything else for a liner is discouraged for multiple reasons. I got my pool locally at Sam's club and want to get it up, but I should spend the $100 or so and wait for it to come, rather than rush to get it up.
The weight of the water will compress the sand much more than you would think. We had another pool in the past and only put down a very thin layer of sand, within a few years small rocks started coming up through the sand and eventually put holes in the liner.
It's been scary weather in North Texas and into Oklahoma. Stay safe.
Baking soda for ph up..somuch cheaper
I actually don't like using Baking Soda. I have used it several times over the years, and I do not get the results I need.
@@The5MFamily I love it..such a natural product keeps water soft, clear and keeps ph and alk level.
Which pool vacuum do you like? Looking for something for our pool.
Aiper is my go to brand, and Wybot a close 2nd. Find one that will fit your budget and pool. You won't be disappointed!
@@The5MFamily thank you 👍

How much liquid chlorine for a Coleman 18 x 48? Also how big of a sand filter would I need ? Would 12 or 14 work?
You will need to google your size pool to double check, but a 12 should be plenty.
How much liquid chlorine for a Coleman 18 x 48?
I would say start with 1/2 of the bottle, then check your levels after a couple hours. Add more if necessary. A little at a time is suggested until you figure out what works.
Happy birthday
Quality is what you choose. Regardless a budget will determine a choice suitable for your family. I think comments against your personnel choice are pointless. Good job.
How did you fare during the storms that hit? Hope all is well
Fortunately, we did not get hit. However, it the storms were only 7 miles North of us,
Hey question, did you compact the sand?
We did not.
No sheathing of the outside walls? Just naked studs? How does this not collapse? Can you explain please?
What is sheathing? How does what not collapse? We put plastic up between the studs and the new exterior siding. That was shown on video.
@@The5MFamily Sheathing is usually 1/2" or so thick 4x8' OSB or plywood sheets which goes on the outside of stickbuilt homes. It ties the wall studs together so they don't fall over sideways. The sheets are nailed or screwed onto the studs.
We put that on in the video..
@@The5MFamilyThank you. Yes. At 12:58 in the video, it looks like the siding is directly nailed on the studs. This is not criticism, just a request for help understanding how these homes are made. On a stick built, they'd nail sheathing to the studs, then insulating foamsheet, then plastic foil, then stucco or siding. On your mobile home build, the siding goes directly on the studs. Is it supposed to be this way?
That’s huge~!
Walker farm family is gold......✝️
Walkers are great people God bless them and you.others need to keep there mouth stout.
I think I started following your channel because of the Walkers. Enjoy all of the channels that I watch.
