    If you have a rectangular pool I'd suggest framing it with some 4bys and make them LEVEL (very important), anchoring it with some rebar, then run a 2x4 with a small notch cut to slide over top of the frame. Wasn't my idea, but it saves you some time.

    Love the concept of the conduit clamps. i have seen lots of videos of leveling. the only thing that i saw was possibly use a longer string or rope to pull it around. seemed like as you were pulling it the end of the board was coming up. could have caused some extra work on yourself, and may have caused the inside to be lower than the outside, like you explained happened. I am definately going to use the conduit clamp method.

    We have used a sand base with both our Coleman pools and haven't had any issues. We have to use some sort of soft base because we have rocks and black dirt. It would tear up the liner.

  • @The5MFamily

    @The5MFamily

    Ай бұрын

    That is a good question. I have never heard or read about that, but I will for sure look into it for now. Other options would be those foam boards that are used for insulation. Or, if you are on ground that doesn't have a lot of rocks you could level that out, and put the pool down. This is our first year using sand, prior to that we always put a tarp down on the ground.

    How many tons of sand did you order for a 24' pool I know you said you ordered 5 yards of san but what was the total weight? Online it says 5 yards is about 9 tons for a pool...What type of sand did you use? Is there a reason you didn't put a liner down to stop foliage coming up from the bottom? I've researched this because I am putting up an 18' pool. My area is cleaned and rotor tilled. Still leveling. From what I read sand should only be in a thin layer a thicker layer will cause footprints on the bottom as poile walk and compress the sand. On liners, Amazon has a few armor-all, Gorilla and some brands I don't know. They also sell them cut to size and an extra thick one. Most anything else for a liner is discouraged for multiple reasons. I got my pool locally at Sam's club and want to get it up, but I should spend the $100 or so and wait for it to come, rather than rush to get it up.

  • @The5MFamily

    The weight of the water will compress the sand much more than you would think. We had another pool in the past and only put down a very thin layer of sand, within a few years small rocks started coming up through the sand and eventually put holes in the liner.
