Great stuff as ever Leanna - I love the idea of heated insoles - never heard of those before. I'm 6'4" so my feet are miles away from my core and do get cold, so definitely worth a look. I was was watching this vid in a quiet place so had the captions turned on - they heard heated insoles as "heated insults" which made me giggle. Great content as always - I watch all your videos over and over - they help me so much.

Haha, I love it when they get the words wrong. Very funny. Insoles are amazing. I think they also make heated socks 😊

Can confirm, heated gloves changed my commuting life when i got them. I've also got gerbing, their ladies range fits very well and they've been going strong for 2 winters of very heavy use. If folks invest in any kind of heated gear, id definitely recommend gloves first, its one of the hardest places to layer up vs the body and feet.

Agreed. I spent 3 years riding, not realising I could get heated gloves. What a treat when I found them 😂😊

I've been riding through winter and even on 200-300 mile day trips never needed heated grips or heated jacket. so rather surprised so many others say these items a essential. apart from good weather proof jacket/gloves/pants, one item is essential for me is having a neck warmer.

I think some people feel the cold more than others. I'm always cold, so put me outside on a motorbike with wind chill and I turn into an icicle 😂

Hi Leanna, As always you are the teacher of all knowledge. I am old school so all this technology baffles my head how can you have wires coming out of your gloves while riding 😂😂. I have heated grips and i don't like them don't know what it is just not me i do agree with keeping as many dry pairs of gloves as you can. I am suffering really bad with arthritis at the moment in my hands so just using the indicator is painful but hey ho the joys of getting old Haha. That's because I new better when I was younger (NOT) so always have dry gloves to put on is a must. As always Ride safe Leanna.

It's unusual not to like heated grips, but if you don't, you don't! Oh dear, sounds painful 😣

Might aswell wear heated gear when its been raining everyday since 2023 but I find the thick gloves prevent dexterity

In the UK I can't ride without a neck warmer in summer (wimp) haha . Recently purchased Battery Heated vest (Arris 7.5v) is lovely early /late season. Luckily I never really suffer cold feet/ hands... although I enjoy heated grips. Good subject, as warmer is safer .

hi Leanne, I love my heated gloves but these have battery in them a bit bulky but i don't trust myself to un plug myself before getting off the bike 😂🤣🤣 i also have heated vest with its own battery but. no heated souls as yet but i do have some nice thick socks to keep me feet warm i have stopped turning my bike around on its side stand now.. 🤣i just know now! if needed i can do it. hope your keeping your self well kind regards Kev

Is really great advice. Our instructor gave us disposable latex gloves to put under our actual gloves on the way back from Mod1 to at least keep our hands dry. Is there any vids on filtering through traffic? Normally I don't do it but I've seen other more experienced riders do it rather than sit in traffic. Always scared of pulling out and not being able to find a space for cutting back in.

Excellent and comprehensive advice! 👍Heated clothing can seem like an extravagence, but as you say it's a game-changer. I think you need to consider a backup arrangement in case you get caught a long way from home with a technical failure - some extra layers and spare fuses in a top box perhaps. I once got caught by a snow storm in Colorado in my pre-heated clothing days, and had to stop to pick up a couple of free newspapers to stuff inside the clothing, but in heated gear I've ridden around the Cairngorms in subzero weather without discomfort.

Good point, especially on a long journey dad from home, having a backup is definitely a sensible idea. Love the imaginative use of the newspapers 😊

I still cant get heated glows....prices its so high....uuuuu..... :)

Have you ever considered a windscreen / shield, or even a 'nose cone' fairing? Keeping the cold wind and rain off you can change your riding experience. (why do you think 'he' rode the Pan European for so many years? 🤔) I can say without a doubt Weize Hipora Waterproof gloves are as comfy as heck and I love them dearly....but waterproof they ain't. Oxford Rainseal waterproof gear is awesome, but 'breathable' is ain't. 🤣

Oh yes, my own bike has always had a full touring screen and handguards (which I forgot to mention in my video...). Makes a world of difference 👍🏻

Riding in the winter ever since I got my license: -Minimal amount of loose fittings layers (air is the best insulator) -Long textile jacket/ over the boots pants with wind/waterproof layer, technical shirt, paper thin merino layer in real cold -Over the sleeves winter gloves, winter Balaclava (I recommend Dane) -No need for heated gear up to -10 Celsius for less than an hour rides. Barely use them. -Taping up ventilation ports on your helmet if required -Full sized boots, long merino winter socks -Pinlock -If you are cold, you have crap riding gear :)

Lots of great advice there. Not sure I agree on the last one though. Some people run warmer than others with regards metabolism. I run cold all the time, jumpers and warm socks even at this time of the year around the house when my other half is in shorts and t-shirts, so it's variable from person to person.
