Cold Steel SRK, what can it take?

So yeah, we broke the handle, but the knife was still 100% useable and we will be making a new handle for it shortly. Again, we usually respect our knives a lot more than this but we wanted to see what this knife could take so that we can give honest and firsthand tested advice on this knife. Truly amazed at what this knife can take and now trust these blades more than ever, highly recommend these knives to anyone looking to get a well priced and very strong fixed blade.

Been researching different knives for about 3 weeks now (been at home recovering from melanoma surgery ) have watched and read just about everything on the cheap Chinese all the way up to $1000.00 blades. Just received a package today with a Cold steel SRK (VG-1) and TOPS B.O.B. Looks like I made the right choice! I've gotten so tired watching people blah blah blah with the knife on a table ...so boring and mundane. Good job with this video...it was entertaining and very impressive to watch what the SRK can take. Thanks

That was pretty impressive - I have a Recon Scout and always wondered what the TANG really looked like. Cold Steel doesn't have a clue about explaining in detail about the Tang - I asked and asked and got totally vague answers - not even a sketch. So this vid is great - shows great vertical endurance and finally I see a Tang!! There was some serious horizontal stress on the blade as well when those huge rounds were thrown down on it - clearly there was horizontal stress on the blade there too! THANKS!

"Always wear protective footwear" and the one guy is wearing flip flops LOL Epic. I was worried about where the tang meets the blade. This used to be all square 90 degree corners I believe and I did see them break right there. These corners seem te be rounded of a bit and although I would like to see it even more rounded it still withstood this hard use. Great video.

There's some knives that are actually brittle, or just have a breaking point or weak spot. However there are others that simply will not break. The steel performs the way you'd think true steel would and shows incredible strength and durability under torturous conditions. When you find a knife that does this its a keeper for sure.

Because of this test I decided to buy one. This is how you test the durability of the steel of a knife.
