Cold Start 168F Diesel Engine and Carbureted Truck

Video started off as a fail because the diesel would not fire up in the extreme cold, these engines have no glow plug or anything to aid in starting, so decided to start my truck on video, even it struggled being carbureted, but a few days later finally managed to get the diesel to fire. It would have eventually started the first time but I ran out of time, had to get to work! Thanks for Watching!!!

Good job the first one failed, saved you from a tongue-lashing from the wife about running engines at 5am. The second pull start made you nice and warm, so in both cases a win-win. Thanks for sharing.

A kettle of hot water on the cylinder. Avoid ether. One slipup and it can blow like a grenade.
