Charging & Storing Lawn Mower Batteries During Winter
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Showing how I discharge and charge batteries in the winter to cycle them and getting them ready for spring. Best to keep any battery thats not used regularly indoors so it does not freeze, that will really help to extend the life of batteries. Slow charge is better then a fast charge. Always follow recommendations from the manufacture of the battery and charger for safety and longevity of the equipment. Wear safety glasses and gloves when checking battery acid. yes, if one is over charged or has a low cell, it will produce that smell, usually smoke along with it, and its extremely flammable. Burnt up a jump box one time, accidentaly left it on a high amp charge (internal charger quit working and charged it off a regular charger) and rotten egg smoke started rolling out of it, almost blew it up. Interesting video, thanks for sharing.

I've got an od CarQuest charger with a 3, 10 and boost. Acts more like a maintainer on 3. I just hook it up and leave it for a while. Dos a good job. And an old Sears that must be a manual job but it does fine too. So yall remain calm and don't overcharge yourselves! Blessings

yeah, those 2 to 4 amp trickle chargers are the best for these smaller batteries, even car batteries to if you have the time to do it! Thanks for Watching!!!

i found some old computer power supplies that each had 12 volt lead acid battery inside for backup power . i've removed the battery from each , put some external leads on , and used them for mower battery chargers . free slow chargers/inverters ! i don't know if they're still made the same today though .

I imagine that would be a great charger, good idea repurposing them! Thanks for Watching!!!
I’ve found that the $30 battery only lasts a couple of seasons. The battery with the higher CCA seems to last twice as long, or better.

Yeah, I try to avoid the cheapest one, and even the most expensive, mid grade ones seem to last longer, you are right, i've noticed the higher cranking amps ones seem to last the longest! Thanks for Watching!!!
