Hank my dear ole Dad used to say, and I'll never forget, "If you can't make a whole loaf then settle for half". Scrap prices up here aren't much better. We are lucky to get $5.00 per 100#s. Which equates to the same. In these scorching temps that a lot of hard work for very little pay. The biggest benefit is getting the property cleaned up.

Too bad she wasn't worth saving. That old service truck would have been considered fixable in my region of NY as long as the frame was good and the cab wasn't too far gone. Especially with how bad our winters are to vehicles up here. Even with its rouge appearance and stuck engine you probably could have gotten $800 for it as long as it wasn't rotted. :)

Hello Hank. Some years ago My Dad and I had a 16 foot tandem axle trailer with 5 foot tall chain link sections all around the edge of the trailer other than the tailgate in which the trailer was fully crammed full of crushed and intact aluminum cans. My Dad and I used to gather up cans from a number of sources for a little extra money in which I would watch for the price of scrap to go up. We decided to try a different place other than where we usually sold our aluminum cans and man were we sorry for that. Of Course, I know that aluminum cans can be deceptive for what you think and what you actually get. This place would not let us unload using the normal scales like the other place did and after we unloaded the cans in which we got our weight ticket- It seemed like we only got partial credit for our load of aluminum cans. We never did sell at that place ever again. Someone profited well that day and it wasn’t My Dad & I. At the time, our usual scrap metal place was somewhat difficult to maneuver around with a trailer and so we wanted to try out the new place that I had mentioned. So I totally understood the grief that you guys felt after looking at your ticket. There’s just way too much work involved to be ripped off like that,Hank.

That door squeak you got at 12:40 when you opened the door on your Ram is notorious to most newer Rams. Take some grease or liquid wrench and squirt the little cylinder thing close to the hinge, it kinda reminds me of a zirk fitting but it’s not. It’s actually a small bushing that the door hinge rides on.

Not bad video, on the branson with grappler. But the scrap yard was possibly taking into account all that liquid weight that was not metal. You see the liquid when the big grabber pulled it off your trailer. It popped something and up come liquid, hopefully water and not gasoline. :)

Hey Hank what is he going to do with the other Ford truck not the service truck I've been trying to find one to redo it cause I remember helping my dad on the one he had when I was a kid and I'd like to find one to redo it with my two boys cause my health isn't doing good and I've got a mustang going to work on it with them and would love to find a old Ford truck to fix it up with them like I said my health isn't doing well and the man above can take me tomorrow cause we're not promise tomorrow
