Those old 2 stroke Detroit engines left sitting usually get stuck injectors and are a bit hard to get going. I’m really surprised it started. The Bus Grease Monkey has worked on a many of those engines. Glad you got it going guys ! Have a Blessed Day

Ya got that right. Watch the KZreadr @KT3406E blow up a 1971 GMC. I'm tellin' you, I don't know which is louder, my sneezes or one of those things on full throttle.😂😂😂
I'm a former truck driver and I have only seen a few of these trucks. My step dad drove cab over International or Cab Over Freightliner. I love the fact that you got that truck running with the help of Wiley. I have driven one of those trucks before. I would love to do it again. God bless you guys 🙏🙏
The best thing about watching your videos with Wiley is the easy banter between the pair of you. Love it!

Back in the 70's I worked for an Equipment company named Pioneer Logging based out of Lexington SC. I delivered and demo'd logging equipment, the branch I worked out of had a International single axle truck with the 238 detroit.

Love love love the sound of a Detroit 2 stroke idling. Reminds me of working on Diamond Rios at the scrape yard. Used to let them run for hours to make sure they were hot when the drivers got in. Just looking out in the yard and hearing that cadence from 20 some trucks was music. Great video.
Wiley has probably forgot more about diesels than a lot of people know. Great job guys. 😁👍

It's amazing how an old diesel can sit for years and with a little shade tree mechanic work it'll crank right up.
@76f350

It's amazing because people keep telling me that sitting is harder on Diesels than gas. But I disagree cause Diesel doesn't break down like gas does as much.

Dog box =Transmission Dog house=Engine cover
In 1975 GMC was putting 671`s in 9500`s that was 250 horse power ( I drove one , stamped on the valve cover > C-65 injectors and advanced cam timing , that one could be a 250 HP ? ( They sound different at the exhaust pipe than a 238 HP does ) . The GMC`s were usually built a little heavier than the chevy`s , even the pickup trucks were a little heavier built than chevy .
The current Crescent Wrench design was invented in Sweden, which is why some call them "Swedish Nut Lathes".

Back in the good days, it wasen't that hard for a guy to afford new equipment. I mean payed in cash. Some of the old loggers I worked for lived in those days. They'd finish a big job & they'd have enough money to go buy a new machine instead of rebuilding an old machine. MY HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED!!
Wow good old truck
Hey Hank you love your crecent wrenches or adjustable wrench well have you seen the same type but whith a vise grip wrench handle on it so a crecent wrench whith a loch handle on it to clamp it down on what have it be ..you would have to have one of them for sure.i bought mine at Walmart hart brand .. great tool bud but excellent vid godbless and stay safe

Some of The Early Chevy Bruins & GMC Brigadiers had 2 stop cables like the ole 9500 GMC's . One was an emergency cable . Man I love the lope of a cold 238 (671) Detroit..😎 looking @ the splitter valve on the transmission . I'm guessing a 9 or 10 speed .
Hell, get this thing some new headlights, and tires, and she'll be ready to go back to work again. Good job, fellas!
