For anyone having trouble, don't use triangle scaffolding. When paired with grass walls they stick out and will interfere with your jumping. Use a square floor and one triangle on the side. Also, make sure the grass walls (arrows) face away from the web side.

After some trial and error I got it working fine with triangle and grass walls. Once I got in the rhythm it was easy.

@@grantlawrence4600 also the grass walls dont have to be facing away from the web. I did it fine with it facing the web. The reason u probably couldnt stay against the wall and bounced backwards from clipping isnt the wall. Its the bounce web sticking thru to far

I just can’t get it. I have torn down and rebuilt like 10 times and my bounce pads won’t layout like his. I have even torn out my floor and put in a pebble base to make sure nothing was out of wack but my bounce pads won’t line up like his. Tips please?

I had trouble getting the first one to line up unless I built it at the same angle as the rest of them and I also had to make full size floors for the pads to sit on because I couldn't line em up when they were on triangles like Cohh's. Still used triangles for the sides to build from but had to use full size for the jump pads to sit on

@@giraffe8529 If you have grass walls, the grass triangle flooring will cut into the wall, cutting you off mid jump. Use full size square floor for the web, as you discovered :)

I play on Xbox. Do you know if there is a snap method for console? I have tried this before several times with varying results (never fully successful) because it is so hard to get the pad in the same location relative to the wall every time.

i want to see him build the 3 triangle grass sections, because i just cant...

Just a quick note, this works the best with mushroom walls, i found that grass, steam or reinforced walls are not smooth enough or allow other part or each floor to stick out so you get bumped on the way up.

Not true. It works fine with grass. Walls are flat. If you bumped on the way up then your bounce webs stuck thru to far.

@@Odyssey636 the problem I had was that the triangular pieces would stick through the full grass wall, for some reason it didn't trim them when they got placed. I was far enough into the game that swapping the walls to bricks fixed it

I had issues with the weed/grass so I used normal grass. Mine is in a spot where it should be safe from attack.

Does the wall type make a difference? Because half the time it flings me away from the wall. And I double checked the rotation of the jump pad.

I think it depends on which way the grass wall is facing. Pay attention to the arrow that shows which way the wall is pointing when you drop the blueprint. I ran into this same problem.

Don't use triangle scaffolding. Make sure the grass walls face away from the web side.

The extra scaffolding is unnecessary, take the bounce pads up as mats in personal inventory and they can be built in place by jumping. Then you can build 4 bounce levels before returning to ground for more grass. The fastest way to build an elevator is with clay foundations and pillars no walls then the height you can build without returning to ground is limited by how much inventory you have.

Idk if it’s just cause I’m using grass walls but the triangles stick out just a little bit and it keeps bouncing me away and I can’t fix it

It does this with grass walls. Use a square floor in front. For the web. Then one triangle off to the side for you.

Mine is on default and works fine. I have it on the wood garden fence by roses and main lab. I have 2 stem pillars under it so maybe that helps.

@@Daedric_Angel no u have integrity off. The most support a stem pillar can hold is 4.5 pieces. If you arent playing custom game then building integrity is off by default.

Curiosity: does the scaffolding have to be triangular, or is that just to save on material?

A vertical cylindrical tower works best - using curved walls. Inside the floors are made with curved half floors which leaves a circular hole for the player to bounce up through. The bounce pads should be aligned up to one internal edge of the tower on floors at every jump height. not only is this safer and easier to use, but it looks aweome from the outside

Ok this is a true gem , ladder be expensive.

Honestly the easiest way to build + farm a tall section of your base for Ziplines is using is abunch of Stem Scaffolds acting as a middle support pillar, then using Clover slanted roofs as Stairs, and Clover flat Roofs as landings and have them spiral around the Stem Scaffolding. It's easy to farm Clovers (they're everywhere), you can create a bunch of Sap collectors to farm Sap for you on a cooldown and building the Clover roof Sections only cost 1 Stem each, and the Stem Scaffolding is only 2 stems each. So you don't have to carry so much grass and stems around. Just need to farm clover and sap. Which is easy and you can carry the majority of ingredients in your inventory instead of hauling grass and stems around all day lol. Cohh's bounce wall, while creative, requires entirely too much farming and building for my tastes lol.

Only the clipping part seems unintentional. The original elevator design did not use clipping and they haven't patched it out, so I'm sure it's fine. Cause it's basically the same thing. Except (in the original design) you use the corner opposite the wall and that elevator builds much faster, too, because you're just using one grass floor per bounce web.

The clipping through the wall part is just a minor bug. You can achieve pretty much the same effect, albeit a tiny bit slower, if you bounce from the other side of the bounce web. The original design of this elevator was just 3 grass walls, followed by a grass floor on which the bounce web to sit on. And you would still just bounce off the corner of the bounce web. Except it was the corner opposite the wall. The original design builds much faster, because you don't need to add more than 1 wall floor for every bounce web, but it is uglier.

I just use the spiral acorn stairs. Yes, it's a pain in the ass to run all the way up whenever I want to use a zipline, but they can be made as soon as you acquire acorn shells, and they don't require any placement trickery. Although a cool idea, this just seems like a hassle to build.

Not true. It takes 30 min to make a tower higher than anything in the game. Acorn stairs not only take way longer to build/farm since there is limited amount of acorns till respawn, its also way slower. Everh time u run up 10 of them you waste time that adds up

@@Odyssey636 OK, my bad. You have to unlock the stairs by purchasing the multi-story bases pack from the science shop. But, despite having to farm the acorn shells for the stairs, I still think it's way better than having to farm a metric ton of resources for a bounce web tower. Let's assume that grass walls work just as fine as mushroom brick walls: per section of the tower, that's 18 grass planks plus the resources for each bounce web vs. 8 shells, 6 crude rope, and 1 stem for the stairs. Not only that, but you have to make sure you place the webs correctly on top of having to bounce up the wall, precicely land on top of the wll, and place the floor for the next section of the wall vs. simply placing the next staircase. Now, lets assume that only the mushroom walls work as needed... That would mean that not only do you have to unlock the spinning wheel, farm tons of mushrooms, and grind it all up into slurry for the bricks, but you have to unlock, farm resources for, and place a bunch of ovens to make the bricks for the wall on top of everything else vs. farming acorn shells and running up a staircase... Seems a no-brainer to me as to which is more practical. (The staircase)

@@iamcyndelaq3515 nope. Bc the stair case takes way longer to build. Bc acorn shells will have to respawn. Also imagine complaining about grass with ant armor and grass master. Also you can get the mats for like 20 bounce webs in 10 minutes. Also placing them correctly isn't hard at all. U place one right then copy the others with out rotating. Also. The time u spend going up the acorn stairs over a 100 hour playthru vs me flying up an elevator adds up to the point that I could build around 100 towers by the time u made it up the stairs in your entire playthrough.
