HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it.

I'm about half a carton short of a 6 pack when it comes to melting so any ideas you have would definitely help . I've tried super heating the mold , vibrating the mold , having a flame on the mold and theres always holes even when its clean copper?? anyway buddy take care talk soon.👍😁

    The coffee grounds make great fertilizer. I always give my mom all my composted ones to use on her garden. The composted coffee grounds give the plants a nice nitrogen boost. Also, all those copper pipes. I wish I could find more, as I've been using them to make my ham radio antennas. Once cleaned, they make the best antennas. But, I cannot find them often so I don't have very many. Just a great 2m band dipole, 70cm band dipole, and a 2m band yagi. That is not much.

Before I got my ham license (though I don't transmit on the HF bands even though I have my general license), I did SWL which I made the antenna from used vacuum sweeper wire. It picks up the signals well enough. I haven't measure the SWR on it since I don't have a tuner and I don't transmit on it, but I imagine it would be like 9:1 or something like that.

    Ah another fine morning in S/E Michigan USA. As in most fridays as I settle in to watch another awesome BigstackD video as soon as it comes up on my notifications ( about 4:00am) its raining ( this year has been wet and Fridays have been really consistent in having a rain day for some reason ), I have a fresh pot of coffee and am sipping out of my 17oz (.5L) stoneware cup. Temps are down but still higher than normal at 56 degrees ( 13 C ) . A great start to the day, the only issue is leaves on the ground and with the rain I can't do much. Oh well, all I can do is deal with it and wish everyone a great day whether you're at the start or the end it. Take care all!

    The amount of metal you got just from some coffee pods, makes you wonder, when people constantly throw away all these single use food packages, aluminium foil, plastics, companies the recycle trash and turn it back into resources must be making a ton of money out of things people throw away.

  • @andymanaus1077

    @andymanaus1077

    2 жыл бұрын

    Nope. Overheads, food residues and the intimate bonding of differing materials make recycling of food packaging an almost pointless exercise. Plastic isn't as recyclable as people like to believe. Aluminium packaging has a layer of plastic bonded to it, making it impossible to recycle the plastic and as you saw, the aluminium recovered from melting was a mere 26% of the starting weight. The recycling value of the ingot the BigstackD made is about AU$0.80 and he burned more than that just in gas. In short, the council recycling of material is a big con job to make residents think they're doing something for the environment. In many areas, the "recycling bin" contents go straight into landfills.
