Dusty Rhodes was one of Dale Jr.'s favorite wrestlers as a kid, so the opportunity to have Cody Rhodes on the Dale Jr Download was something that he was very excited about.

@@furywanabemonky05 I think he meant NASCAR and wrestling aren't as good, not Cody and Jr.
I beg to differ Cody Rhodes about that warmth comment, September 11, 2023 Norfolk Scope it was my grandsons 11 birthday and you took his hand and said, I pray you have a wonderful birthday. That sir is deep warmth and he was so thankful you took a moment to talk to him. Bless you and your career. Mims❤❤
Magnum T.A. is so underrated. It's a shame his career was cut short.
Met Big Dust when I was 15 years old, almost 50 years ago...my absolute hero! Later he would come to the Florida State Fair, and hang out with us kids in the cattle barns, sit there for an hour, or two, just chopping it up, with The American Dream... incredible! I'm 64 now, and those memories will last forever... great video!

Okay I'm jealous ,used to be a huge fan when I was younger, I'm 63 Dusty did it all in wrestling and did it well!
There are many famous sons that should get together and chat. Very informative and entertaining.
The collab we didn't think we needed but we are thankful it happened
I could literally see the connect between Dusty taking to Dale. That rugged man, intimidator, show up and bring it, persona. Makes perfect sense.
I never thought I would see Cody Rhodes and Dale Jr together. This is so trippy but in a good way!

I never thought I’d see Dale Jr and Mike Tyson together either. But you know, people have all kinds of connections outside of their family and work.
So much in common with Dale and Cody with legendary fathers
I'm a little bit losing my ever loving mind. When racin' and rasslin' come together, I can't stop smiling. Can't wait to listen to the whole cast. Great get Jr.!!
Cody and Dale are so much alike.
I was a big time Wrestling fan before I got into racing and to see these two together just makes it feel a lot better to have both sports interacting about there roots! This is inspiring!
I don’t follow wrestling at all, never have. But what a good guest and a really engaging guy to share a discussion with. I like these “outside” guests. Great work.

Cody is about as good as it gets for a sit down discussion for wrestling and non wrestling fans, and it just so happens he’s damn good at wrestling
Back in 1986, me and a couple friends sat behind Melbourne Auditorium talking to Dusty. He was driving a red pickup. He kept asking me and my friend if we were interested in wrestling? I was 6'2 280 lb lineman trying for college football. I wish I would have taken him up on the offer! Dusty will always be my favorite!
I truly love the respect and love Cody always shows his daddy
Dustin and I were neighbors back in the day.. It was always a blast seeing Dusty and Dustin out on the desk with the grill rolling smoke.
What an amazing interview from two sons who lived in their dads shadow. Absolutely amazing! Much respect to Dale Jr. and Cody.

I think Jr. Has learned more about his father in these interviews and everything he had no idea about in his death than what he already knew if he was still alive. What if the dale Jr. download never existed and these stories never get told.

I think the best ones are when Jnr steps out of the NASCAR bubble such as Cody Rhodes and also Ned Yost is a great one as well
If Dusty Rhodes and Dale Earnhardt SR wasnt apart of your childhood then your childhood sucked
I'd love to know just How good that made Jr feel to know Dusty Rhodes was a fan after growing up being a fan of his.
For whatever reason, it doesn't surprise me at all that Dusty was an Earnhardt fan. That's awesome to hear.
I was at the show in Carrollton, Ga and I remember it like it was yesterday. Dusty was a great guy in and out of the ring!
This is a real cool colab... I think Junior should do more guest like this!! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Nascar & Wrasslin’ how southern can you get? Dusty was one of my favorites growing up. Got to see him live a few times in CWF, early 1980’s. Great memories, if you willllllllll.

Cody is the first guest on the Download that is wearing a 3 piece suit or a suit in general.
The superstar sons of the Dream and Intimidator. I freaking love this!!!!!!
This is great to have a guest on for a change who does something other than racing. Very nice interview.
In what world are these two guys on the same podcast. Dale Jr is the man.
Racing and Wrestling were my life when I was a teenager. It was the only place I could escape from my messed up childhood, even if it was for a few hours, it was my escape, my hero’s were wrestlers and Dale Sr. I always say, ppl that are celebrities, whether it’s a athlete, or something else, have no idea who’s life they touch on a daily basis, and how much it can mean to a child, or to the person who is in a low place ❤

I loved Dusty Rhodes! After the event in the Omni Atlanta Georgia, we waited for wrestlers to leave. So that night Dusty , Nikita Koloff and Jim Crockett got in a car and headed to the airport. We ran traffic lights and stop signs following them to a private jet access on the tarmac. We were hollering and carrying on with excitement.
Cody still sporting a suit on the download. Lookin’ like he just finished a promo on Raw. 🔥
I was quite surprised when this episode popped up in my podcast app and I saw Cody Rhodes. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode.
Love the cross-over with each having Southeast roots.
"Baby Doll is a Jezebel off the streets" -Dusty Rhodes Back when wrestling was a must see for me.
This cool. Dale JR and Cody. As the Late Dusty would say "We're making major motion pictures and Sitcoms Baby!!"
That was awesome!! Cody needs to come on the show more often
Junior should have Hank Williams Jr. on the show. Nobody could better understand Dale Jr better than the son of the Hank Williams. The legacies they have had to live under and yet become icons themselves.
when two worlds collide both your fathers would be proud of the men you have become

Great change of pace. Truly enjoyed this episode.
Two of my favortie things coming together in NASCAR and Wrestling.
I watched his dad for year's, Now the American Nightmare running the show.Great job ,Jr and Staff.
Hands down or up, this is one of coolest podcast episodes I've seen anywhere. It's like at first mixing food together you don't think would taste good but it does.
As incredible as it seeing these 2 together imagine seeing The American Dream and The Intimidator together!
My goodness, I couldn’t love this more! NASCAR & Wrestling were my thing, and my entire reason we bought a VCR when they first came out, and were like $400, so I could record while at church! I remember when Magnum TA first appeared, and had Toby Keith hair back then. I had posters in my laundry room!😆 Cowboy Bill Watts, Ted DiBiase, JYD, Hacksaw Jim Dugan, Jake the snake, and Jim Ross announcer. Small time back then, no wrestlemania, no strobe lights and fog machines. Good memories.❤️ Thanks for this DJD episode.
I vote for all the WWE guys to run an exhibition race and the nascar guys have to pair up and do cage matches.

@@zacharykelsey3156 I'd honestly would love to see Edwards vs Harvick, when Harvick was young he did some form of mixed martial art. I can't remember if it was karate, wrestling, or what, but I can see that being a hell of a match lol!
In a way, dusty rhodes and dale sr are similar and cody is similar to jr. Dusty and sr were common men doing uncommon things. Both gifted at what they did. Cody and jr always had the expectation of being their sons and being compared to their dads.
Awesome!!! Love having different folks like Cody on the show...
I remember seeing Dusty in the old Richmond Arena (early 70's) before we even had the Richmond Coliseum. Still have magazines from then and ole newspaper ads of who was wrestling each week. Good memories.
My favorite wrestler and nascar driver in one video!
I wonder how more wrestlers are going to be invited on the Dale Jr download. Awesome to see Sting come on the show.

Stone Cold was on Dale Jr. Download before COVID.
Me and all my buddies were big time pro wrestling fans when we were kids growing up in the late 60's/early 70's. Saw Dusty Rhodes in person wrestle several times back then. Dusty was one of our favorites. For people who never saw Dusty in person way back then, you have no idea of just how physically big he truly was. What a massive man. He wasn't very tall, but man, he was a true "wide glide". His shoulders were in 2 different time zones. Remember Tank Abbot from the UFC??? Dusty Rhodes in the early 70's would make Tank Abbot look like some average sized middle weight.

Good athlete too. Just search "Dusty Rhodes basketball" here and you can see that he was pretty good even at that weight.
Not many guys his age would even know who Frank Zane was. He he. Great interview.
The way he describes his Aunt doing all the work, at 12:45, and Dusty coming in with the HOT TAG! to save the day. 😂
loved hearing that kid's story!
Love seeing these two together!!! 🖤🖤🖤
Having wrestling legend Rhodes & NASCAR The Earnhardt's is amazing segment know Dale Jr favorite wrestler Cody Rhodes.
I said last night before any content came out that this would be a great episode because It's two guys who can REALLY relate with each other in a lot of ways. They've both had to live under the shadow of a name, honor it, and carve their own paths at the same time. They both do a job not many 'normal' people can really understand, they both have the unenviable task of dealing with a ton of fans wanting their time and attention... This was one of those episodes that feel way out of left field but at the same time, makes perfect sense.
This was worth every minute. The American dream being a huge fan of the intimidator just blows me away. Raise hell praise dale! 🏁
This is cool and unbelievable
Dusty Rhodes will always be my favorite wrestler! Dustin and Cody are in my top 10!
Always amazing to have someone from outside the sport talking
WOW! Loved this interview.
Everyone wants to be on the download. Jr makes NASCAR universal
Man two worlds collide. Love it.
I was at the wrestling show Cody was talking about and I was on my way home to Va when I heard about Dale Sr. Passing. Very said day. Cody would tape Dusty's show Cody is a very smart young man and a very good wrestler. ❤
My two favorite style of sit-down podcast talkers racing and wrestling this is the best show ever
This is awesome well done cody and dale
Dusty and Dale two of the greatest in my life time!
I remember watching him in Florida back in the 70s. He's was a great entertainer
NASCAR AND WWE never thought I'd see this ethier I second that
Two of my favorite worlds colliding
Love these kind of cross platform stories of the oldmen that made my childhood awesome.
Two guys with legendary fathers
I live in South Fl and went to Monday wrestling every Monday ! Dusty Rhodes was my guy I talked like him for all the kids in High School I met your dad Dusty, Dirt Dick Merdock, Mr Werstling # 1 & # 2 after the show at a PDQ they were in a big Caddy heading to Tampa for a show the next night I said in the Dusty words my mom was a plumber & hes started going back at me and I loved it. Man he was bigger than life to me those were the days !!! God bless Dusty Rhodes
Awesome. Great interview
Great show...... Evrybody forgets Billy Jack Haynes.. he starred in wrestle mania 3. Was a big part of the 80s... He remembers Cody running around the ring chasing his dad..... He told Dusty one day your youngest son Cody is gonna make it big when he gets older.
I could listen to both Dale and Cody all day
Worlds clashing your both great!!
Dusty brought me to wrestling as a child and now as an adult Cody has brought me back❤️🙏🏽✊🏽💯
Damn, what a crossover.. Was not expecting this when I looked at my feed today. Good on ya's, DJD!
I think this is the first guest on the download with a suit and tie
I love how Cody got JR to pop when he put him over. Cody is making Dusty seem like a mark for SR.

I always wondered if Dale ever interacted with wrestlers
I heard the Garth Brooks reference… can we get Garth on the download now👀👀
Carrollton GA! I live here! Wow
The American Dream Baby! Miss that Bionic Elbow
Even *I* never liked Jeff Gordon. For me, Dale Sr was my favorite by a mile. After he died I really never went back to NASCAR again… so that anecdote about Dale Sr being Dusty’s favorite too, just gives me immeasurably more respect for him.
Cody and Jr talkin...how cool. Cody, Dustin and Dusty...Wrastlin Royalty!
Never expected Cody on the podcast..... right on Jr🤙🏻
Best show yet ❤🤘
Freaking Hell! Great Interview!
