Sickest thing I have ever seen. Have no idea what possessed him to actually pick that wave. I thought that if he fell there he is a goner. Love to see the whole wave, did he make it? Respect times 1000. Lot's of guys charge big stuff but that was just different level...wow!!!

...."there were some waves that were ridden, that were unfilmed...no one will ever see...except that person, which is all that matters." Koa Rothman sums up this is livin' and true surfing in epic fashion.

You Koa and Billy blow my mind , I always loved to surf ,but watching you guys I'm like wow my young braddahs enjoy and come home! I remember Billy young in the corner of Tavares Bay surfing it up Time flys
Billy Kemper's wave at 9:50 is a mutant straight out of a horror story with a Shipsterns step at the bottom. Even HE looked back at it, no doubt saying "Dear god, WHAT ... did I just drop in on?!?!". Mad respect from San Diego...

your blog is quality Koa, respect to you for being so honest and setting a great example
Koa jack thank you 😃🤙 always grateful of the risk you guys take to bring us mere mortals the content you do. Insane 🤙
I made that blank for Stretch with exactly these kind of waves in mind. Cut the trees, milled the wood, shipped to the Islands, made to Stretch magic rocker and templates, most will never know the level of hard work and commitment that Stretch puts into the hand shaping and tuning, precision glass, sand and finish he puts into those tow boards and every single board he touches. Made us proud Koa. Go again.
This is the vid I've been waiting to see, out of the entire tube. Ever since the swell appeared. Your surfing had improved allot Koa, it's noticeable. And so is Jacks' camera and editing work! All positive all the time!
Koa rocking the stranger things hoodie in Tahiti makes my day lol
The way you describe that wave and the explanation behind the first guy. That's awesome keep doing what you love, be careful out there. Thanks for sharing your lifestyle.
Billys wave made my day . Jack and Koa keep doing what your doing cause this is livin .
Your personal story and insight in the end, really brings it to the next level. Unbelievable
I'm intentionally going to... hurl myself across bumpy liquid pavement with a four story building chasing me... . yehp! 🤪
Real Waves and Great story , Thank You for sharing . Much Respect To you Koa
Been waiting for this vlog all week 😈
Been waiting for this one! Mate absolutely awesome.. Best KZread channel.
wow you can feel the tension in this episode, thank you guys, i've got goosebumps now)
First off that was insane! 15,000 miles away and my stomach was doing that thing. Both of you Koa and Billy please consider wearing a helmet. Billy I watched that whole series where you battled that life and death injury and it was so intense. You guys are awesome and we need you to be around for a very long time👏
Completely crazy !! Respect for all the riders
This was a sick breakdown at the end while he was eating, cool to hear a firsthand account and not just a bunch of big waves and loud background music.
Yessahh been waiting for this the day the swell hit😂😂
Heavy! It looks big from my screen, can't imagine how big it looked in person. Thanks for the vlog, great job.
Every episode somehow gets more gnar this season!
Awesome adventure. You guys are rockin it. Heavy waves. Thanks for your stories Koa. Love your content. 💙🌊🐬 Aloha

Koa, Really enjoyed this one! That was some crazy Sxxx
You boys have been absolutely charging, also the wave breakdown at the end was so heavy!! Hectic!!
Man I know I'm couch surfing and you were actually there- but I do believe you have the record for biggest chopes wave of all time during the last code red swell- 🤘 this swell looked similar in size but very close- either way you got the trophy in my book-

WoW now that looked real heavy! Awesome vid thanks!
Koa and Brada Billy going again. Legend Session. Stay Gold. Aloha
OMG! That is so scary! So much respect for surfers that go out in these conditions! Mother nature doesn't care how talented you are.... amazing video! Thank you, Koa for sharing....
Billy's look back into that beast was insane.
You guys are on another level. Legends 💪
sick video as always. love how blatantly truthful you are about being anxious about it opposed to being a liar tough guy who say they aren't and look more dumb for not admitting it.
No one saw it. In this day and age that is quite the statement...
That's pretty much a "survival situation"! So glad a bit of reef rash was the only injury for you guys!
I normally don’t listen to the commentary but the description of the ten foot white wash on a shallow reef…this is a waterman.., respect
SO AWESOMELY HEAVY!💝😃🤙🪶
So massive and scary wave!!! Glad you didn't get injured!!
Damnnn Koa, those waves were huge, heavy and thick brahda!!! You guys have balls of Steel!!! Billy and your wave Koa was crazy Big!!! You guys ripped Teaupoo apart. Keep up the amazing footage my man!!!! Aloha, Tommy Turbo!!! 👍 Shaka 🏄♂️ 🌊
Thanks so much You guys are so insane and inspiring Never seen such heavy waves. Your commitment and honest commentary is awesome Totally blown away Your channel rocks Re stock merch to get to Australia Keen to support Cheers Boys. You made my week
Thanks so much for putting names of surfers in video. Sometimes it’s hard to make out who’s surfing with it. Most of the other surf channels don’t do this, and that sucks.
i already enjoyed every drop of that mega pint of stoke with the 8+ft waves we got on socal coast , i cant imagine how these building size waves must feel in tahiti
It takes a special kind of crazy to see a wave like that and think "man I want to get right in the middle of that!" LOL. But I'm glad they do it. I love watching. Safely from my couch lol
Super sick. Great video as always! :)
G I A N T .. beyond .. fantastic display of surf insanity. Description of waves and wipeouts much appreciated.
Dream job bro wish, love it insane teahupoo's 🤙🏾🏴☠️
What a crazy experience, the stories you will have forever!
Never forget the "Koa Swell" years back and that wipeout on Surfline. these look just as deep
Every single person out there is one fully committed individual and put total trust in their partners on the skis. Amazing level of sheer will, ability and trust in themselves, partners and equipment.
So awesome to see Kemp back in the water
Bummed to have missed this swell in Cali 😞. Glad you got some good waves 🌊
Insane vid boyyyy!!!
You guys are Fucken insane I love it congrats on surviving the code red 2.0
I love your honesty. Yes, knowing in advance, the hours before. Whoa. That things will be HEAVY not too long from that moment. I feel that way before any trip. haha. Cheers.
Koa No doubt Love your show
You guys are extra ordinary human being and very humble big wave rider.million respect for all of you.🙏🏄❤
Great video, glad you're ok! Just cutting out at end of ride looks super scetchy before it closes on very shallow sharp reef..
You have insane courage / I am impressed
Damn you guys are crazy!! I love it!!
This is the most unique wave in the world in my opinion the way these swells come up out of deep water and pulls the water off the reef before throwing over its nature at its best its just amazing to me ...gotta love teahupoo;)
Wow you guys!! So glad you survived that
Bro... Billy Kempers first wave was absolutely fucking mental
I can’t believe Billy made that wave. He got airborne like 3x. That for sure would have got me on the last one at the bottom.
by far the gnarliest waves i’ve ever mindsurfed
THE LIME JUICE ANTISEPTIC!!! A South Pacific favourite...
way to scary!! Great Video!! Amazing surfing!
Freaking NUTS!! Lovin it Koa!!
Insane footage Billy’s wave was a mutant beast trying to eat him alive 😎🤙🏻
The suspense…. When the music hit during your drop in I started laughing and crying at the same time! Jesus man, thank you and you are a gift brotha. Koa and Jack… you both a so gifted at what you fuckin do. Yew!!!!! Thank you 🙏
Watching that was quite amazing! Respect for all concerned...
good stuff. thanks...
BACK - SIDE - BAD ASS BILLY K !!!!
Those couple of jet skies that almost got cleaned up by that set wave but didn't were sooooo lucky!!! 😲
Glad you’re ok Koa.
Brah, I hope your second wave stands in your mind as one of the heaviest ever....for all your footage so far on your channel, that was it!!!🤙🤙
Thank you for story time
Stuck at work in the operating room watching your sick vid while someone is getting their ACL reconstructed. Psychin 😎🤙🏼
That jet ski getting thrown up at 9:50 is wild
This is legendary
Love this chumbo koa billy gang
That billy Kemper at 9:50 WTF??? Nuts
Tahiti Government needs to get some skipper protocols in place for these Code Red days. Not letting professional athletes, skippers and film makers into the line up during these events is really bad for the industry of Teahupoo.
The highlight of my day every Wednesday is getting off work to come home and watch the newest addition to This Is Livin lol epic stuff guys!! Love watching the awesome adventures and realness behind everything you feel (just sometimes I wish the vlogs were a little longer lol 🤪🫣😜). Power on and keep charging, you are great!! 🙌🏼

FREESURFERS ETHIC # 4: “Fear is normal, Panic is Deadly, Be safe out there . Know your limitations. Respect the Ocean and it will reward you tenfold. The “best surfer out there is the one having the most fun. Keep on charging and shredding Thanks for the vlog guys. Get some well deserved rest and reboot for the next one.
Good to see you guys not wearing those awfull face diapers in the airport.
Great experience!!
Everyone who have surfed once can feel the adrenaline transmitted through the screen. so sick
A bit of a bump and extra thick amplifies the excitement!
Aww man we wanted to see that one that brought you far in.
I can not believe it. Until now I understand why there were no boats. I can't believe the police were waiting for them!! Incredible that Jack did not accompany you! But it's great that you were still able to have very good shots! what incredible waves! This video was spectacular and I saw how you were exhausted. Great and thank God you are well and Billy too! what great waves!
Excellent video !!! The story telling after the session is priceless and so authentic !
One thing I noticed when he was checking his board was the quick visualization he did. Where he just says, "brrrr, let go" and imitates the movement he will be doing as he drops in. Might not seem like much, but doing that actually helps you prepare for the activity you are gonna do. I often use it and have seen lots of succes with it when coaching and teaching newbs to surf. I tell them that they must just see themselves in their mind's eye, standing on the board, looking towards the beach. Effortless, no thinking. Weirdly, it seems to work.
