Caroline is a good player but not consistent. I doubt if she'll win a Grand Slam, just not consistent enough. Most people seem to think, because she has a good run at this tournament that she is going to do big things, I'm afraid to say, that won't happen.

When Caro plays like that she can beat anyone on tour. The only problem is her consistency. When she is ON she can give the Top 5 a run for their money, but when she is OFF, she can easily lose to unranked opponents. Hope she keeps playing well this year. I wanna see her win a Grand Slam.

Garcia is a good counter to Gauff. Gauff hits a steady ball and wants to grind out the points on the baseline using her superior mobility and fitness. However Garcia just wants to take everything early and get to the net. There's no chance to grind out the point as either Garcia hits a good approach and then puts away the next ball at the net or she fluffs it. Gauff can't do a lot except hope Garcia's loses focus (which she does a bit).

I must definitely appreciate the effort and perseverance of Caroline Garcia. It was never an easy draw in accordance with the bracket of the draw projection, toppling Osaka in the previous round, dismantling Gauff on home soil. The offensive game and style of Garcia entirely make me a magnificent impact, she can really be invincible instantly by the time she plainly focuses on her action within that phase.

Garcia is the most unpredictable player on the tour.

This is the first garcia match i watched in a long time . What happened to her last year ? Her game is beautiful, power combined with touch 💅 and never afraid to come to the net . Good to see her back on track

IMO, the state of her game rests entirely on her return. When she's confident, seeing the ball well, and locked in wrt timing, she can beat anybody in the world. But where she's so aggressive on return, if she's off by even a little bit, things can go awry quickly. I think a normal return style would've made her a top 10 mainstay.

Gauff did nothing wrong here. Garcia is just unplayable when she's at her best. 10 years ago in this same tournament, she really pushed Serena before she managed to win in 3 sets. She's very dangerous and experienced. But like most players in the top 100 she lacks consistency. That's what makes it difficult for the top players in this era. Anyone can knock you out.

Coco Nutz did a lot wrong here. Her unforced errors were her undoing her inconsistency is basically her middle name she lucked out and won a grand slam but you're not going to see that again

So HAPPY to see Caroline Garcia back to (nearly) her best, after her recent injury issues. When injury-free, she is (without doubt) the most aggressively varied/versatile player on the WTA Tour, these days! Just one (annoyingly) lingering doubt - she's French, thus there is ALWAYS the possibility of CHOKING (the exception being Mary Pierce).

Coco, Iga and a few other top ten players have such vulnerable second serves it's amazing their coaches don't change them up. Really like Garcia's service action, much more powerful than Coco's.

Super match de Caro ! Elle a l'air bien physiquement à nouveau, rapide sur le court. De fait, son premier coup passe le filet ! Et ensuite elle peut jouer tactique, soit des gauche/droite soit en montant au filet pour des coups en toucher. Ce match est un exemple pour tous ceux qui répètent qu'elle ne sait que frapper ! Bravo Caro, quel plaisir !

It’s been like that on almost all of these. A few of them have been uploaded at like 280p and you can’t see the ball at all. Idk how a big tournament/the WTA can do this badly

When the table was turning against Caroline Gacia, time 5:39 the woman commetator said she have all sorts of problems now not just the score board but including her shoulder, but when Caroline begins to find her rhythm again the woman commentator said nothing of the shoulder any more, the shoulder problem suddenly disappeared, congratulations Caroline

Like the camera angle. Don't like 720p @ 25 fps, which is just bad for watching tennis. Tennis TV encodes their highlight videos at 1080p, 60 fps, and the difference in quality is obvious. Why do you encode your highlights at low quality, WTA?

What are you talking about? Coco is playing the best tennis of her career. She's no.3 in the world. Won the US Open, won the summer swing, got to the semis of AO and even though she played a far better match than at the US Open she lost to Sabalenka who was playing phenomenal tennis. Got to the Semis at Indian Wells for the first time. Then in Miami now loses to Garcia who just beat Naomi in straight sets and critics called that match the best match of the tournament so far. So it was a great match from both. Gilbert has made her a better player and she's only been losing to amazing players.

The only extremely impressive thing about Gauff is her court coverage. The backhand is a good backhand among many, and the rest is mediocre at best. When Garcia plays like that, which isn't that often, then she is extremely impressive.

Her forehand is on and off. It’s often pretty decent; it’s not a huge weapon but it isn’t too bad. She just has days where she shanks it a lot due to her extreme western grip (unfortunately exactly the same as mine and I feel her pain)

Ehhh what? Every few years she goes on a winning streak, gets a top ten ranking, chokes from the pressure and her ranking goes back down. Rinse and repeat.

When Caroline shows up, she's very hard to beat.

Garcia has the most aesthetic game on tour if everything goes well. She is one of a few players who can demolish Swiatek if she feels herself. But this match summarizes her whole career. 80% of the time, she plays like she did in set 2, and that's sad.

Well Iga just got smoked by Alexa who put on an absolute clinic. Iga is still the best but there are players that can beat her on a day when her game is not clicking. Coco will be fine. She's 19 and continues to learn.

Iga is very beatable on faster surfaces . AO, Dubai and Miami are all faster surfaces Doha and Indian Wells are slow This is also why Coco beat Iga at Cincinnati because it is also a fast surface(but Coco also struggles on fast surfaces a bit and is worse than Iga on slower surfaces)

Her form hasn't been all that great recently (a lot of ugly wins where her mental strength made the difference) and she ran into players who were more comfortable in the court conditions. Sakkari's very good at Indian Wells and Miami suits Garcia's game as well

Garcia always plays well in singles when she's had a run of success in doubles. Makes you wonder why she doesn't just play both...

Garcia is the type of variety and come to the net, coco has to put the ball deep to baseline to force garcia, sadly coco serve is too weak for that.

Coco needs to work on her forehand. Too loopy so she needs more time to hit the ball. Shorten the back swing. I'm not sure if that's easy to do, though if you're used to your swing
