Wow what a fighter. Both sides were fighting. This was a crazy match with so many breaks and very difficult to enjoy as Coco wasn't playing well at all but defended very well and that's credit to her opponent who just didn't give Coco any rhythm. This is winning playing ugly. Coco's worst match in a long long time but she definitely shows her fighting spirit. Such a dramatic match. Glad she's through.

Yes the best players tend to be able to just find a way, but she really can't afford to have her serve misfiring like that for the rest of the week.

Yes she mentioned in her post match interview how she came out more aggressive in the 3rd round. It seems like she just wanted to get that 2nd set over because she took off in the 3rd set but then started to ease up and just made sure she held her serve.

While seing the highlights. i was like wow this was a super match. A lot of great points. But when i read the comments i'am glad i didn't watch it live, seems very stressful for the coco's fans

For Coco to continue advancing to the finals and win the finals; she needs to hit down low crisper fast shots close to the side lines. Because she has a tendency to hit volley shots. The competition gets tougher as she advances with better players who leave no prisoners returning volleys .

Yes, a bad match indeed, Coco was not free-flowing or using her strengths! I just watched the highlights; it would have been a pain to watch it live! 😭

Coco needs a serious trainer on a number of areas including in physical condoning. She is under 20 and if she trains properly and shows discipline, Coco will win more grand slams than any female player, including the greatest Serina.

Physical conditioning is the least of her issues. Her struggles today were mental.

the little dance of her, some exchanges, grueling watch for the rest. her opponent surely has no fun on court. no space for that (all is filled up in blue and the other colour).

The first 2 sets were some of the worst tennis that I have ever seen. Gauff should have lost that match 6-0, 6.0. The chosen strategy for playing such an opponent (powerful but slow) was weird. The plan was to obviously hit the ball down the middle of the court. Gauff was hitting every ground stroke, every serve (when they managed to clear the net), every volley, every smash, down the middle of the court. This allowed her opponent to dictate play and run her around the court for over 2 hours., which hampered Gauff's game and prevented her from taking advantage of her opponent's wicknesses. To Gauff's credit, she snapped out of the stupor and played a smarter, more aggressive third set.

Pusher vs error queen = boring match.

Worst match ever, but I'm glad the drama queen is out
