My dream. I have a cocktail bird!💛

I've had both and like both, BUT: (1) cockatiels produce A LOT of dander and some people are allergic to it. Budgies don't have dander. (2) cockatiels require A LOT of time. They are not as independent as budgies and need the owner to spend a lot of time with them. Whenever you go outside the room, your cockatiel would scream to have you come back. (3) cockatiels are 3 times larger than budgies, which means 3 times more poop, 3 times more mess, 3 times more food. I would clean my budgie's cage 1-2 times a week, but I have to clean my cockatiel's cage EVERY SINGLE DAY. Also, because of cockatiel's dander, I have to vacuum clean around the cage 2 times a day. I would recommend budgie to anyone, but cockatiel only to those who understand cockatiel challenges well.

Budgies definitely produce dander and they poop enough to have to clean their cage and perches daily, not twice a week.

Cockateils are more of a cuddly companion bird whereas budgies usually prefer to do their own thing. I’ve got 1 of each.

@@shreyasplayz5946 Better to put them in separate cages. Budgies have ZERO sense of personal space and often really bug cockatiels by being all over them, which can be very stressful for calm cockatiels and can result in fights.

I've only owned budgies before I got my first cockatiel. He chose violence and loves to bite and scream. My second is a cuddly puffball. Completely different personalities.

try watching bird tricks they helped me with my aggresive budgie

I used to own budgies back when I was a boy, and found them both very difficult to tame. One was a green female budgie which had a very aggressive behaviour and would attack you if you tried to put food out. Where as my blue male budgie had a quiet personality, and was very shy of people

I wouldnt say budgies dont need a lot of space, because they do! they need to fly as well, and they need big cages.

My cockatiel is very much a family member. He likes ti join his family for meals and if you are sick will sit on you to watch over you.

At first I was planning to buy cocktail but,budgies changed my plan 😊😊😊😊😊 Budgies are small,adorable,caring,playful,cute. And also budgies are more active than cocktail

Yeah i got my budgie a few weeks ago he's very sweet and playful ❤ he cuddled me for the first time last night. I'm sold on budgies LoL he's my co-worker so i spend lots of time with him LoL Banzai the budgie.

I've had my budgie for over 2 years and he's still scared of me. I'm really jealous of how you've managed to tame all of these birds 😭

@@im_095 don’t listen to that guy. If you buy two they won’t bond with you and it will be harder for you to gain their trust since they’ll only want to be with their own kind and not associate with you. Trust me I know what I’m saying and others have said the same thing

I have 8 budgies and every single one of them still bond with me, the owner can be doing something wrong or the budgie isn't ready, it took a very long time before my budgies got used to me, for example, my friend was over, and my budgie would stand on my hand but when my friend came close my budgie flew away meaning the budgie must be used to the owner just not ready to bond yet.

If the birds wasn't hand raised as a baby it is unlikely you'll ever tame it to the degree you want it to be. When this is the case, it's better for it to have another companion

Both are amazing, but compare to budgies, tiels are more gentle, as first pet tiels are amazing(that doesn't mean budgies are bad). I've both tiels and budgies all are super tamed. Great video💕

My cockatiel loves to sit on my head and explore when im doing something. When im doing homework he needs to ruin my paper but i still love him!

@@raymondjohnregalado3361 tbh i dont reccomend buying a parrot if you cant aford a BIGGG cage and toys and a proper diet for them( you can search this) and if you cant spend so much time with them if they are alone but if you can aford everything then i just reccomend spending a lot of time with it and dont force it on anything! You can search a lot here on you tube but i think just llaying with it and spending time will be ok . Also talk in a baby voice hahah i know it sounds weird but i think that they like it very much. Ask whatever you need im willing ti help

Bro I have a cockatiel and trust me, they’re energetic as hell, definitely not a quite pet🥲 but they’re super cute and intelligent. He hides his toys in the food bowl so that no one else takes it 😅

I adopted 2 budgies and fell in love with them. Now I have 4. I've always loved cockatiels. But I'm very happy with my budgies. I like how chatty my birds are. And I enjoy watching them play all day.

I have had my budgie for 3 and a half years and before I got him I watched many of your videos and did my research and I thank you because if it wasn’t for your videos I wouldn’t have my little talking baby that always makes my day better

Cockatiels are awesome. They are very good natured clowns really. Budgies are cool too, but they can be quite aggressive.

What a neat and informative video. I LOVE the bird room. I would enjoy being able to spend a day in a room full of birds, especially these two types. Thank you for sharing.

@@palak_05 Hi my budgie flew away too I tried to find her but I couldn't find her anywhere the thing is pet budgies are not that skilled in surviving in the wild they can't find any food and they are very vulnerable to predators like cats,dogs and other big birds so no they didn't survive :(

@@palak_05 I'm sure you'll be extra prepared now! If you have them inside, be careful to not open doors or windows where they could suddenly fly out. Your budgies will be in a happy and peaceful place 🥰

Definitely there is no best. Both of them are cuties and it depends of your lifestyle and point of life. I just watched this video because I enjoy seeing Cocktails and Budgies together.

I have a budgie (Yoshi) at my apartment and a cockatiel (Polly) at my parents house. I must say while Yoshi can get loud sometimes, Polly is always loud unless there’s no one else home or if we’re all asleep.

I’ve only had two budgies and one cockatiel. My budgies were like night and day one was sweet and the other just likes to be left to her own devices. My cocktail is cuddly borderline clingy even and loves chewing and pooping on everything he knows he’s not he’s not supposed to. All in all they’re all great birds with individual personalities.

If you want a budgie get only one, it will be easier for taming and companionship. But you need to have time for them otherwise they will get lonely. If you get two budgies it will be harder to tame and they won’t bond with you they will bond with each other since it’s their own kind. I suggest training the first budgie and then getting the second budgie so it’s more easier to tame.

I have experience with both birds, Cockatiels are generally more cuddly and get more attached to their owner, but their non stop whistling can be quite annoying, budgies on the other side mostly just chatter at a moderate volume.

When we were just getting a bird, we were reading about budgies bc I saw that budgies were recommended for starters, but when we came to petshop we noticed budgies are very loud (unlike cockatiels, ones who were there) and also before going I was reading a bit about budgie problems and it was said they don't really like being petted and stuff So yeah, we bought a cockatiel. It's a young female

Ngl but cockatiels are not quite. They sing all the time and its fun. My music teacher gets annoyed tho cuz when she teaches me, my cockatiels start to sing lol so I have to cover him up... he still doesn't stops when he hears me sing lolollol.

You should also mention that cockatiels and budgies should have some fruits and veggies except for onions, rhubarb and avocado of course

“Budgies are playful” or somehting like that, POV: *you just bought 2 budgies yestrday and their very tired but are easily trained because one is trained within one day without millet*

Fun fact : NEVER let your bird eat to many Sunflower seeds! It made my bird sick, and die. And remember to keep them Warm. hope this helped

We have like 40+ budgies. We aunt bought a cocktail, he was a baby cocktail. One day she called us saying that the cocktail is not eating anything, it is also not speaking. My heart fell when I heard this. I told my parents that I want to go to aunt's house right now. When I got there poor Dommie was scared of everything. I spent 4 hours gaining his trust. He was also sick and lonely. I gave my aunt a 3 hour Talk about why you shouldn't keep birds alone. My mom took the cocktail to our house because our auntie didn't know how to treat him right. He was so pretty but died of starvation on the way. R.I.P Dommie, I know you weren't my pet, but I loved you as you were my child. Those 2 days with you were my best days. I really want another cocktail but my parents refuses to keep one because we already have 40+ budgies. I love birds

I’ve grew up with 7 budgies, they all died and some of their deaths are unknown but I’ve recently got a cockatiel and I’ve already formed a bond with him❤️ I got him 12 days after my birthday

I have 4 tamed cockatails who eats in the table with our family. Whatever we eat they eat & they especially love deep fried foods.

I already have group of zebra finches 😍 and canary I'm so happy 😊

I hate budgies. They are more difficult to tame. But cocktails are easy to tame. So cocktails are better

I love them both. I have two budgies Spunky and Billie. I have a sweet girl who is a cockatiel BB.

Dont get confused cockatiels can be real loud and nonstop for like 15-30 minutes on one tune.

"if you want a quiet bird get a cockatiel" bro that is the most wrong thing ive ever heard lmao. i had two cockatiels and we had to rehome them within a month because of how noisy they were they'd cry whenever we'd leave. Budgies don't but they do make a lot of noise however we've had em for a couple months Cockatiels are louder than Budgies. Still a good vid thats my opinion

They are generally a better option for families. I’ve had hand raised budgies and a cockatiel in the past (I have budgies now but they’re not hand raised). My budgies have all had the same personality around everyone in my family. Our cockatiel on the other hand only liked my dad. I have no idea why but I researched it at the time and I found out that this was common. I would only get another cockatiel if I lived alone as it was a bit sad to find out that my cockatie didn’t like me that much 😔 So I c y u prefer budgies but I still like both 😃
