This is a great video. A lot going on , nice to see you in the action with them and to see you keeping your clients going at the same time your working with the coast guard

Here in Washington state they lose their minds if you try to keep fishing when they try to board your boat. Always nice to them and support the Coasties, but having to stop fishing for them is wrong. Love the way you just kept going and they worked with & around you.

Just doing their job, just like all charter boats. Coast Guard has always been cool when boarding me. Always the best captains and mates that serve the U.S. Thank you for the service.

Considering you can look up the cost of a new Freeman 37 quite easily on the internet, id say you maybe wrong. Maybe his upgrades cost around 3/4 of the cost of the boat and if it did you would be right. I highly doubt it but anything is possible. One thing for sure it’s a mighty fine aquatic specimen

Love how ya let them do their jobs but that you didn’t stop doing yours ... they can wait as you have a livelihood !!

Believe me they know they are not popular boarding charter boats. My skipper was tired of boarding the same charter captains over an over again in Maui HI back in the 80’s. People are paying lots of money to go out and fish on vacation and here we were taking some of their fun time away from them. We were required to complete a certain amount of law enforcement boardings every month though so that is what we did. USCG 1981-1986. 🍻 Again it is there job and thank you for making it easy for them.

You guys got so many tuna. Hopefully you hooked the coastguard up with a couple of them. I kinda looked like they were amazed at how much you guys were catching. Really awesome video

If you want to reduce your interactions with the USCG, simply contact your local USCG Auxiliary and ask for a safety inspection. They will come out to your vessel, inspect, and if and when you have everything, issue a sticker. When a boarding officer sees that sticker, they typically will say thanks for participating and move on.

My daughter is USCG . Was in the Keys. Ran the Florida Straights on the 1111. Spending some time in the Gulf . Just doing a job. You ain't t breaking the law, nothing to worry about. Capt Nick, calm and taking care of the charter, not breaking any laws. Let the Coasties do their job while you do yours.

@@benjigans1419 I love the Coast Guard, regretted not joining myself and trying to advise my son to join, that being said they can be a bit annoying sometimes and like all law enforcement a bit harassing in the name of "doing their job". Personally I feel they shouldn't be out boarding boats unless they see you breaking laws or have some reasonable suspicion you are breaking the law.

Hey Nick the biggest most respect!! Lol. On your cane pole. In Ca the old tuna fleet used lift poles. From your tip put 4 inch para cord then use a black rubber tie down (this is called shocker) then to mono.

Lol, you told them to come aboard but be careful not to scratch your boat. Man, that made me laugh

I used to do those boardings way back in 1985. WMEC 615 out of Port Canaveral.

You can show everything you need from the boat without them boarding you. most of them just have us toss them the flares to check the date these jackoffs prob wanted to be on tape or wanted to checkout the freeman

I’ve been ocean boating for over 30 years. Only had the water cops come next to my boat once in open water. They said they wanted to do a safety inspection. I always have enough preservers, fire extinguishers etc. So when the CG asked to board my boat I asked if I was suspected of committing a crime, they said no. Then I said boarding request denied. I wished them a nice day and I left. They did nothing. You do not have to let them on your boat. They are law enforcement, they are not your friends in this situation. Always refuse to allow them to board.

Reading the comments all I can think is I wish there was a system where all the people who “appreciate” the searches would get searched. And all of us who feel it’s unconstitutional could be left alone. I have a feeling all of the people who initially felt the searches were fine in that experiment would end up coming over to the other side so they could avoid the searches.

I read through many of comments, but this is What I notice the coast gaurd did not interrup, with Nick attend his paying clients, at time they waited for Nick to attend to his clients needs, that's well trained enforcement who used commences when applying to the law. The admospher way good and curious during the inspection. Due to them applying the laws especialy type and size of fish. They ensure your waters are not over fished and have fish in your water. Many countries waters are over fished that there's hardly any left. Hats off the them and Captian Nick.

Uncle Sam just can't leave people alone even 30 miles in the middle of nowhere.

When I was a delivery tech at Hatteras Yachts we got boarded almost every weekend on ocean sea trails. For the most part they just wanted to check out the boats. Got kinda aggravating after awhile
