Just stopped by BUD AND MARYS while I was on vacation! Fed the tarpon, picked up a few souvenirs, met the bean an took some photos! Great experience

The music during the skinning was a nice touch to that magical moment.

You got my click at ceviche! I’ve caught a few Mahi-Mahi in different locations off of charter boats. In Mexico I spent 30 minutes fighting a good sized one like yours. The captains deckhand was his ~12 year old son. He was laughing at me. But, on the boat he prepared ceviche. One of the best damn things I’ve eaten. He did it over salad with tons of lemon and lime juice. And, we used tortilla chips to scoop it all up.

Mahi go through most color phases of the rainbow...blue is very common. Here in Hawaii when we get into a school we catch them- who has the freshest one leaves it in the water as an attracting element, then when it gets really tired they go bright pulsing gold, as a danger warning ⚠️ to the rest of the school, then it gets pulled in, leaving another fresher fish.

Love seeing dolphin that have recently thrown a hook or are agitated roll up to eat with those dark bars. Really stands out from the fresh fish.

Capt Nick, I am with you on the spicy food, why anyone wants to over season something as delicately flavored as seafood, especially shrimp, oysters and crab, is beyond me. I grew up on the Alabama Gulf coast and never understood why people raved so much about LOUISIANA CAJUN cooking! After, 2 bites all you could taste was cayenne and chili!😟

I would say that weighs 37 and 1/2. I just saw the weigh in.... 35.6. Not a bad estimate from video. My first estimate was 41.5 until I saw how thin it was. Nick, you just pointed that out. we had a tournament here in maryland the White Marlin Open and some guys caught a 73.5 pound dolphin and a 53 pounder and a couple 40 pounders
