CNN Presents: Dirt Track Warriors

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

With 800 tracks in 49 states, 30 million fans, and a billion dollars a year in revenue, dirt track racing is the biggest sport you've never heard of. In this energetic hour, CNN takes you inside this full-speed world of "bad fast" cars to meet the stars, watch the races, and join the millions for whom dirt track racing is a way of life. Before NASCAR became the largest growing spectator sport in the nation, drivers raced on dirt - and still do. In tracks across the country, competitors ranging from long-timers to weekend warriors, local mechanics to consummate pros race roaring racing machines engineered nearly from scratch before legions of committed fans

I have heard that pretty soon (2020) dirt racing will be bigger than NASCAR. You can’t get better than dirt racing, these are real people that worry about being able to afford certain things, just like the spectators do. The price of a ticket to the World 100 is $40-60, compared to the Daytona 500 where a bottom row front stretch seat can cost $300.

I often wonder if he still has that tag. Always a very nice guy who would take time to talk to everyone. Come to think about it, most all dirt track racers take time to talk to their fans. Scott rarely beat Jeff , granted Scott was just up and coming and then jeff moved to asphalt while both in their prime, but the Pheonix #15 rolls in and everybody else is racing for 2nd place! Jeff won everything, everwhere. even lost count so many NDRA and major series wins. not counting winning about every other night at Clarksville, Winchester and about all of the Mid South if there was any pay involved.
