You have to put a "tiang" to prevent strollers/trolleys on the escalator. A few Malaysian malls had implemented it.

Why didn't they touch on how standing on one side of the escalator is resulting in more maintenance work because of the imbalance of weight? There was an article years back by a then recent retired mrt maintenance engineer who mentioned about it. TT

I remember how that engineer was ridiculed as the imbalance of weight was deemed negligible by many. But then I also heard that that effect can build up over time to cause a malfunction

For people who push their baby troller on the escalator, why not just impose a heavy fine, like smoking? It will save many lives from unnecessary trauma.

For parents with stroller, i can relate to you. Many times I try to be safe by using the lift yet the lift is always packed. After waiting several rounds, you simply "give up" and try to be more careful on escalator. Maybe we should educate the people to come out of the lifts if they see a stroller or wheelchair

This is a awareness documentary guys. Not just talking about how to use escalator. Managements are trying their best to maintence the safety . It is our part to learn the safety rules . People never follow rules and when something happen they blame the lousy service . Just think about it !

A *barrier* should be implemented on all escalators to prevent strollers/trolleys on using the escalators. Travelators should be implemented instead for strollers and trolleys.

Not only about the dirt, it's also warm or very hot at many times... Did you also notice those new escalators with weird or unheard-before brands, sometimes the hand rails moved slower or faster than the steps, so you'll have to keep adjusting your arm if you're resting your hand on the rails otherwise you'll start to lean forward or backwards... Should I also add on rocking steps are now common, the moment you step on the escalator, it'll rock front and back or vibrate... My whole life using escalators all these with the exception of heat is not a norm... But now it's a norm...

Lifts have long queues and have no priority towards those who need them. Why not add signs to the lifts at the escalator to direct those who may need them. (Sometimes it is really hard to find the lifts as they are very hidden) More auditory announcements about the warnings as people are always looking at their phones rather than where they walk. Everyone really needs to change their attitude with the "Customers are always right" (Customers in this case cause facilities are not "mine") Poor maintenance from those technicians, ask them about how much they are paid and you will know why no one wants to take those jobs and why the quality may not be up to par.

Seems like you have chosen the wrong sticker color. The warning sticker should be bright or something eye-catching. It should be at the eye-level such as handrail or on the steps. Of course, we cannot use the sticker on handrail or on the steps. We would probably need to paint it.

It's not about stickers. We know it is dangerous to push strollers on escalators. We are not stupid. This is common sense. But parents chose to use escalators and compromise on their children safety (what if escalator stops suddenly?). It's their decision.

Ermm....but how to solve "lousy escalator safety design"? What design can u do to stop parents from pushing strollers to escalators? Nothing. OR... put a barrier at the start and end of escalator? It's gonna cause human jam and also dangerous. What if ppl jam infront and u can't reach the floor while escalator keeps going forward? Parents should take responsibility of their children's safety. They want to risk their previous babies just for convenience? Go ahead.
