On the bright side, chicken nuggets help solve food wastage as it can use parts of chickens that nobody buys. Homemade chicken nuggets could follow the same principle to help reduce food wastage.

Did you watch the video? They use chicken legs and breasts, not the parts that nobody eats. And the chicken nugget industry is actually one of the worst for the environment, as they really on industrial poultry farming (which is also cruel for the animals).

The experiment where he gives the kids a choice of homemade or like McDonald's worked out so much better than what happened to Jamie Oliver, where pretty much every kid wanted the fast food one even after being told what was in them.
Everytime steve talks about nuggets, he is putting them into his mouth

Entirely depends on how you cook vegetables. They need seasonings, spices and sauces to be delicious like everything else if your serving single vegetables with no seasoning or flavors, of course no one likes it. If your making a plate of Asian traditional cuisine, with multiple primary ingredients and seasoning and sauce that compliments those flavors, millions of people love it.
I don't know but I prefer my homemade chicken nugget more. No crazy masterchef technique or ingredient. Just common minced chicken meat bought in local supermarket, add egg, fine panko, garlic powder, salt, sugar, paprika powder, and chopped thyme. Just mix it with hand. Then coat with another layer of panko to add more crunch texture. I think I like that way better. It is more juicy and taste more like chicken than our usual nugget. After some experiment, I found that adding coarsely chopped mushroom like portobello will add some unique texture, sauteed onion for more juicy taste, etc. What I ove from the home made is it is totally ours to decide

Ikr? I dunno, I live in Delaware, USA and we absolutely LOVE our scrapple! Google it. It’s composed of pork liver, hearts, fat, tails, snout, etc., but it’s DELICIOUS!!!! And yet people around here will complain about nuggets too. It’s ridiculous.

The problem's not the innards/ bones but the addictive & large amount of other ingredients such as salt, flour, sugar... that goes into it just to cover the lack of similar taste as if you were using for ex only breast with right amount of other ing.. to make nuggets which directly effect ones health. I'm not sure how old you'r but I wasn't expecting you got that out of this whole video & no less from a fellow asian's a bit worrying but at the same time not surprised of the thought process due reasons..... I don't believe there's such things as one "healthy food" instead it all comes down to a balance of what you get from all -fat to there rest..
i know they.re unhealthy. but after watching this video...i feel like eating nuggets!!

You need to add wheat flour and yeast for your nugget to even compare to the commercial ones, Steve. Flour is necessary for making nuggets.

Whats the best brand of frozen chicken nuggets? i only buy this brand call freezepak, the rest all not as good. some the taste is off and some texture like mush... buy once and never buy again.
You should steam the chicken nugget mixture first before fried them, so the taste will be similar to chicken nugget store
This is making me crave McNuggets so badly, but all the McD's near me are closed due to COVID-19. Blarrrgh.
I thought I've seen it all but having an Asian Bill Clinton as the host is a new one.
It not about choosing healthy food over the unhealthy ones. It the cost of those foods. Unhealthy food is always cheaper than healthier one. I would still go for white rice because they are cheaper than brown or red rice.
i wonder how much nugget he ate during the filiming of this video

Indeed it is, and a Malaysia produced one. The Singaporean version of the same product doesn't use palm olein and is lower in both total fat and saturated fat. So lesson is to always check nutritional labels if possible and avoid Malaysian food products since they pretty much add palm olein to everything which is bad.
22:14 “we only use chicken breast with no skin. So, 100% pure chicken” 😂
This must be a very tasty episode to make.
There should be a nutrition fact for the healthier nuggets made to affirm that the nuggets are really healthy.

Good advert for LHI
@22:40 lmao obviously they will choose macdonalds nuggets over homemade nuggets. most of the children "like" it because of the cheese not because of how tasty the nugget is. when steve asked the question, someone said "because its free" lol
what are the brands tested?
I have converted to a Vegetarian since 2015 and there is no turning back. Thanks God 🙏🙏🙏 I have cut out all these processed food from my consumption.
Pink slime looks like what I feed my cat.
now i want to try eat chicken nuggetss. what brand shpuld i try?
I enjoy eating those nuggets from supermarkets Deep fry 10 pcs Dip in thai chilli sauce So yummy Remember eat in moderation and infrequently
Saturated fat is good. More salt is good also. - provided you don't eat the carbs, which are essentially poisons. So eat the meaty part and leave the batter on the saide of the plate. Dieticians should no longer be promulgating the myth about saturated fats.

I like cheese and tomato😂
This is just my experience, but i didn't grow up eating fast foods. I was 15 the first time i ate chicken nuggets from maccas. it was alright, but not that amazing. However, as an adult I just don't have a craving for them. I've bought expensive chicken breast nuggets and found I didn't enjoy them. So every time I see them advertised I just don't have any recollection that is very positive, so I don't eat them at all. The same thing applies to burgers and fries. My only weakness is pizza and KFC. But I think growing up eating home cooked meals I've developed an immunity to sweets and ultra processed foods. I enjoy cooking and creating flavours myself. So I think it is important to teach kids about this from a young age.
20:38, "24 year old" parmagian cheese. LOL. I'm sure he meant months.
Poison wrapped in food..get some diabetes with my heart disease..yum im lovin it🍔🍟🌭🤣
I hate people who don't let fried food drain on paper towels. At least let the oil drip off on a wire rack. Smh I hate soggy and super greasy foods.
24-year-old parmigiano. nice. I personally like my cheese a little less aged. but to each their own.
I wonder why those companies he interviewed agreed to let public knows what’s inside nuggets

Watching this while eating Mcdonald nuggets 😜
So what with chicken liver? It's quite popular in Indonesia, also it tastes not bad actually.
all in all just eat these in moderation, like once every week should be alright
Can I have the recipes for the healthier chicken nuggets.. for my future kids .. if I have any.
Before watching: like chicken nuggets After watching: try making healthier nuggets ... too time consuming and not that tasty. Now: back to eating fast food nuggets ... so convenient.
How about eating meat substitute nuggets eg: Quorn nuggets rather than chicken nuggets?
Nice vid
I didn’t know I was actually quite early
Gibblets and bones are the most savory part of the chicken. So I have no problem eating pink slime.
In our household, the only chicken part that we don't eat is the head and gall bladder. So I dunno what the fuss about what part they use for chicken nugget.
We should make dumplings the more popular healtier option than chicken nuggets.

Not if the filling of the dumpling is still crappy like chicken nuggets.
Isn't impossible foods and beyond meat ultra processed?
This guy, just has chicken nuggets in his pocket hahaha
we can taste with our mouth for the nugget, fish ball, burger, etc. that have very less meat. been so long i suspect all these have only 10-20% of meat.
Whys he in the lab in the dark 💀
Mc donalds nuggets cost like actual gold nuggets so that's how I avoided eating it
I too dislike carrots. So I make japanese curry with diced carrots to not only mask the taste but to trick my own brain. So I can imagine blending a veggie tomato sauce to trick kids to eating it.
I volunteer to eat those chicken nuggets!
That's why when I have fast food for lunch , then normal food dinner at night , the dinner is not as good. Your brain gets used to the chemicals and additives in fast food , that normal food starts to look and taste uninteresting.
The CEO of McDonalds himself can publicly say "I don't know what's in chicken nuggets" and I would still eat them.
hmmm yes, chicky nuggies...
