    Even if you finish all your work by 10pm you'll end up using your phone till the late hours of the night because you had no free time to do so earlier. It's not just about going to bed earlier, it's about striking that work-life balance while awake. Pretty hard to achieve that with gruelling school/work schedules.

    i think her school need to look at why her CCA ends at 19:30hrs, and maybe rules preventing CCA from taking too much of a students day, and having the option to skip them without penalty if they have too much homework.

    It might also just be metabolic, I was over exercising, under eating and not getting enough carbs which resulted in several nutritional deficiencies after 6 years etc (thought I was being healthy, felt great in the initial years) unknowingly I was putting my body in a catabolic state which will cause the body to stay awake and alert, as it is meant to. Think about what you are doing and what messages you are sending to your central nervous system via the way you eat exercise and live...you might be putting your body in survival mode and its simply doing what its meant to be doing. I cut back and changed the way I exercise opting for more anabolic promoting activities with ample recovery time, ate more frequent balanced meals and also allowed myself to take naps. It has taken a long time for my body to balance out and recover, I now don't even need to bother with or think about sleep hygiene, I get tired and sleep. I hope this helps someone in a similar predicament, the worst part is not knowing what is happening and how to recover.

    Considering there are various other factors such as cardiac rhythm in relation to our bodies...genetic factors... Or body's regulational factors and many other variants that determines our evidential results of whether we're sleeping well or sleep derorived for that matter...correct me if I'm wrong...

    sec 1 and already sleep at 3 am? i wasn't even hitting that during my JC days. Is she really a good representation of the teens in singapore? Furthermore, have you really seen what she does for 24 hours, and if there are large pockets of times that she is just wasting away due to a lack of proper time management skills, as she has already admitted to in the early part of the video?

    This comment may trigger those who say they don't have time to sleep... (lol) but... Ultimately it comes down to how you manage your time. I work from 9am to 1am during weekdays (around 15hrs/day) and I have enough sleep everyday (I don't yawn or feel sleepy throughout the day). When I'm not working, I'm resting or sleeping. I try to spend as little time as possible on social media or surfing the web mindlessly. People may say they value sleep but then they do other activities other than sleep. In reality, they value those activities more than sleep. Just look at how you use your time and you'll know if you're kidding yourself. Using the host as an example, she works 12 hours a day, sleeps 5 hours. Where did the 7 hours go? Using the student as example, she wakes at 5am to 730pm (14 and half hours), dance class at 9pm, homework at 10pm. Sleeps at 1 to 3am. Don't tell me the dance classes and CCA activities every weekday. That's quite outrageous. And if it is so, it just means she values those activities over sleep.

    One of the reasons you can’t sleep deeply at night is because people “especially Singaporeans” are addicted to technology and gadgets. They have not yet realise of the impacts of EMF - Electromagnetic Frequency Radiation from WiFi - Cellphone mast, dirty electricity and magnetic fields in general. People are being exposed to the radiation of their phones on a daily basis and almost never read the safety SAR levels or legal documents available on their devices. Lookup: building biology, and reduce EMF “electrosmog” for deeper, more profound sleep and better recovery.

    CCAs dont happen every single day. Dance classes are not essential. What is the real reason she “ends school” at 7.30pm? Probably hanging out with friends? Manage time better. Even in my JC days, I sleep at 10pm. Choose better, accurate more accurate representations of the public.

  • @nitrogennitrate9274

    @nitrogennitrate9274

    In secondary school I ended class at 6 because there was always extra lessons and compulsory remedials so that could also be a factor. Now in JC I end school around 4.30 or 6 with only one 1 hr break. Perhaps she’s facing a similar situation. But I agree that there are some students who can sleep earlier (as the teen did mention how her friends were sleeping earlier than her) and it could be due to her lack of time management and we should have a broader representation of the public
