I’m a 35-year-old black man from Detroit. I was pulled over a few nights ago at about 3 AM in a predominantly white neighborhood. I roll down my windows turn my dome light on and handed the police officer my concealed carry permit my drivers license, my registration and insurance, they didn’t have to ask 10 minutes later. The cop came back to my window and let me off with the warning and said have a great night.

I’m a black man also,this is a tricky situation. If I’m legally stopped I understand that I have to provide all documents like any other American. There’s now way if I’m just walking down the street and the police just randomly decide to Id me with no reasonable articulable suspicion of a crime that I’ve committed I’m not giving up id. Sometimes yep it’s just easier to just give up the id and have your rights violated.

If this was really over tinted windows, all he had to do was give them a verbal warning, and they both could have been on their way. As a black woman I can understand being annoyed if an officer wants to ID you without plausible cause or reasonable suspicion. This is NOT one of those times bc its about window tent. I wish both were locked up and CPS took custody of the child until a relative could pick them up. Even if you feel it's not justifiable or reasonable, COMPLY anyway, and comply with their lawful orders! The streets aren't the court room venue to plead your case and act a fool. FILE a police complaint and get a lawyer! While attending midwestern university in Wichita Texas, me and my friends were pulled over several times at night. They would ask the same questions: They asked who we were, where we were from, why we were in the area, and who owned the expensive 40K Lexus because they expected it to be stolen. He said he needed everybody's ID in the vehicle despite no probable cause. The car was registered to Victor Paris, so his daughter Victoria Paris could drive it. He stopped us because it was 5 black women in a Lexus. He said be careful in his city and avoid driving at night. We filed a complaint but it went no where. So we left and went to Texas State university. Funny how we were never stopped

In this situation, the driver and passenger were doing way too much. They escalated the situation farther than it had to be. Them being hostile is going to make the officers be aggressive. Know your rights and express them rationally.

In my opinion it is both Police officers and Couples fault cause this mess.. For Police officers they should tell them why they appoarch them in first place..... even that black girl noticed it... At 0:32 said "why are you appoarching me" quickly ignored that question she asking toward that officer. If you trying to detain someone you gotta let that person know why are you detaining that person give that person the reasons to hold he/she if not that is bascially kidnapping.... That like saying you was driving on the road that police officer pull over you and ask you get out of the car and put you on the handcuffs without giving you a explain why that officer put you on handcuffs... That bascially called Illegal Detainment.... I mean you gotta know anyone what is the problem is.... If you don't address the issues you can't going around appoarching people and trying put anyone in handcuffs without given reasons..... For Couples their big mistake is acting aggressive toward the police officers and making everything worse.... Specially that black woman if only if they act calm and collected if they know they are inncoent they should stay silent(if they want to using 5th amendment) and give them their driver licenses and other informations... If they getting arrested let that happen since they ain't going get charged anyway if they did nothing wrong.... Never a good idea to fight with police... If you wanna fight with the police take it in the court... If not you will get more charges or even worse get shot.. This is coming from a Black person myself I am British but in USA was planning on moving back to UK next year.

It never ceases to amaze me how some people can turn a simple warning or a $50 ticket into a trip to the county jail. I don't know how these cops manage to maintain their sanity when they're forced to deal with people like this on a day-to-day basis, I really don't.
