Question if I get a bird nail trimmer is it okay or is it bad for the bird?
Do you have tips to make sure you don’t cut to much and cause injury?

Cut less then you think is safe! Or be up to a light, it’ll be easier to see the blood vessels (be careful not to blind your cockatiel though!)
My cockatiel lost one of his nail can it grow back?
Yeah..their nail get stuck when they walk on any fabric
Do you have fans in your house?? Are these birds smart enough to avoid danger like fans, appliances? Or do you really need to look after them?

We do have fans but we turn them off when she is outside. ☝️ You will have to supervise your birdie 🐥💕 & put them in a safe place when you start cooking 🥘

Not a good idea leaving them around the fan. Mine almost cut his leg while messing around with it. Since then I removed the fan.
I’m scared to do that to my Cockatiels because I don’t want them to be hurt to feel any pain Because my birds they are like my children, so I definitely going to take my pets to Petsmart or some professional to do it because I’m just too scared to do it cutting their nails because I know that if you do it wrong they could bleed And being really severe pain for the bird, so I’m scared but thanks for the video. Great video anyways, I get really attached to my birds, my Cockatiels, my feathered friends, my children I have a female and male cockatiel. They love me. They are always on my shoulder, they love lying to me , I let my birds stay out of the cage all the time and they are . Free flight birds. Which means I let my birds do whatever they want in the home. And I always make sure no ceiling fans are plugged in and I’ll make sure the doors and windows are shut. I always always make sure my birds have fresh food and water.
You might want to glue sandpaper (100-220 grit) strips under the wooden bars in her cage, in order to avoid this going forward. The strip should not be wider than 1cm, i. E. cover lower 1/3 of the bar"s circumference

Its uncomfortable for them
What you are doing is wrong you should provide wooden hangers and perch so that she can trim her nails and beak.

Some birds don’t do it well enough themselves and can hinder them from walking, my bird has a foot deformity and doesn’t have the ability to trim their nails so I have to do it

No ,she did it correct!
Such a gorgeous birdie & you obviously really care about her but you should never really need to clip her nails. Very bad idea to do so. You could hurt her & at the very least she will grow to hate you. Tiels have surprisingly long memories & bear grudges. I have seen some of your perches & think I see your problem. They are smooth & the same shape. It is very important for birds to have different sized perches. Natural branches from bird safe wood are best. That should help keep her nails trim. I also had one rough cement perch next to their food so that they used it often to file their nails down. Note only to use one cement perch. They are not a good idea to be used where they spend most of their time, sleeping or playing. Must have worked because in over 30 years never had to trim any of my tiels nails. Lots of love 💕
