When he walks on stage you'd expect a man with a big deep booming voice.

This is one of the funniest moments in the series for me, right from the opening line. “I’m getting the name John. Is there a John in the audience?” Like you wouldn’t get a “John” in a working men’s club. 😂

The "ey, oh" line gets me every single time. It's throwaway but brilliant, as if he's being overwhelmed by a horde of spirits desperate to communicate with their loved ones.

This was, still is and always will be absolutely brilliant comedy. Bloody hilarious.

Interestingly, Peter Kay has stated that there was an abandoned subplot that Brian Potter could actually walk. I wonder if the "you can walk" line was a leftover remnant of this?
