This is my first time reading 1 Samuel. It's wonderful and there are plenty of take aways. Putting it in my life and seeing how God is in control and hiding me from this that don't need to be seen. Wow! God is Good! His right hand is holding me All the time. My GOD is so wonderful. Thank you for making this lesson great to understand. I see God light all on you.

My, my, my!Reminded me of Jesus when they couldn't touch Him amd He would escape every time until God allowed them to take Him. Saul was a plum mess. God's Word is so amazing!

That's such a great parallel, sis....yes! God was in complete control as to when they could get hold of Jesus. God's Word is indeed amazing!

I just finished watching this video for the third time, and I just heard you read in 23:28 that the rock where God made Saul break off his pursuit of David is called the "Rock of Escape!" Whaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttttt???? "The Rock of Escape!" Too rich!!! How did I miss that all these years? I looked in my Bible and in my version they don't translate it from the Hebrew. The place is called Selahammahlekoth, and I never looked up the meaning. But this has me ruminating. The Rock of Escape. Isn't that who God is to us? Our Rock of Escape? Like you said at the end Kim that God could have ended Saul's pursuit at any time,' He could have sent that messenger to pull Saul away to the Philistines much earlier, but God waited until David was utterly outnumbered and there was no way he was getting out unless God got him out. And at the last minute God did. Now David KNOWS by experience and not by theory that God is his Rock of Escape. I love that. Thank you for bringing that out. And now I am going to meditate on Psalm 121:5, The Lord is my Keeper. And I'm going to sit with that and ask God to place it deep in my heart that He is my Keeper and "Rock of Escape." You Rock Kim!!! Thank you sooooooooooooooooooooooo much for taking the time to shoot these videos for us!!! I can't wait for chapter 24.

Ooh, this is so good!!! YES, that's exactly what God is to us! Reminds me of one of my favorite Psalms - Psalm 18 (written by David, of course!), which says God is a rock, refuge, deliverer.... And I've always loved that David says in that Psalm, "my rock, my fortress, my deliverer..." As you said, David learned by experience ALL that God is when we cling to Him! When you know God is your Keeper and your Rock of Escape......what else do you need??? Thank YOU for bringing this out! That's why I love studying this way! xo

In this chapter David is such a great teacher of clinging to God, but we also see during his clinging moments his obedience to the Lord didn't make his life easier. Saul increased his attacks. That is a word for us today, things look bleak, questions of deliverance are on our minds but we have to learn to wait. Yikes!!!! Teach me oh Lord. Oh wait verses 7-8, I have to say it's a good thing it wasn't me because I certainly would've assumed since I helped the people of Keilah they would help me. Nope Bro David inquired of the Lord, who he trusted. Teach me oh Lord!!!!

"...his obedience to the Lord didn't make his life easier".....such a hard truth. How nice it would be if every act of obedience resulted in an easier road. But I'm so thankful we can trust that God will be with us in a strong way as we obey, no matter the road. I'm saying with you, "Teach me, Lord!"

wow! God is so amazing and awesome! The verse that spoke to me was 1samuel 23:14 but God did not deliver him into Saul's hands, praise God! what a mighty God we serve! And Saul seem to actually be delusional, because of his relentless pursuit of David, he actually thought he was hearing from God as so many others do today, But God is faithful, and near to those who call upon him, Thank you sis Kim, these series are so encouraging and so needed in these times, me and my family appreciate you so much! Thank you again God bless you and your family ❤
