Mid 1968 - ‘Two A Penny’ Movie (UK): Two A Penny / Twist and Shout / I’ll Love You Forever Today / Questions (Cliff’s final movie of the ‘60s, this is his most neglected, and in some ways, most impressive. Looking sharp in a corduroy suit and with hair combed forward, he convincingly plays a petty criminal who comes to question his rights and wrongs after listening to his long-suffering girlfriend… It is actually much better than it sounds, and the music is good too. For ‘Twist and Shout’ he is backed just by piano and drums in a pub scene, while ‘I’ll Love You Forever Today’ is a far better song than ‘Congratulations’. Not that the public agreed; when it was released as a single it reached just No. 27, Cliff’s lowest charting placing yet)
