Haha so cute!! Love Hank’s expression when he walked in at the end!
‘Apache’ is still as thrilling as it was in 1961
One of the greatest instrumentals ever!
The Rock "n" Roll sounds of the 60's was so great, the look that Cliff gave Hank at the end is funny.
I think that is the first time I have seen this. That young man will go far
Well done Cliff. 62 years later you still sound tight.
Amazing, respect to cliff and the Shadows!
What a great bass line Jet Harris played on Apache! Wonderful! Mr. R. 😀🎶
I had no idea he was so good Well played Sir Cliff Richard He was cool back then & he’s still wearing well, even though they tried to discredit a beautiful soul they failed There is a God & you just watched him
Didn't know Cliff Richard played the guitar. I have always liked him though the 70s and 80s. Great talent

Cliff Richard i The Shadows znani byli już od lat 60--tych i to były najlepsze lata ich świetności i popularności!
1st time seeing this clip after following them for more than 60 years. Hank must have coached Cliff for this presentation
One of the best Bass lines ever, very imaginative.
Wonderful to watch Cliff Richard playing the guitar. Excellent.
This is the very first time I see Sir Cliff Richard plays lead guitar & it's PHENOMENAL~ The scene at 2:21 is so very hilarious that I almost laughed to death~~~~~~~
Wow... amazing if it is Cliff actually playing... ...respect!

Loved this type of music growing up. Just amazing these musicians were so clean cut compared to what came after the Beatles revolution.
Помню эту музыку с детства. Как же она мне нравится! Мальчишки такие молоденькие, а сейчас им по 80 лет, если они живы...
I am a great Fan from Cliff Richard, a wonderful Singer and a great Guitarplayer, Sir Cliff Richard.
That was brilliant, first time I've ever seen you play the guitar , well done Cliff 😎
I've seen Cliff Richard live, just once, but wow ! That was over here in Germany, Siegen, around 1986. I'll never forget it. ❤
Never been a big Cliff fan myself, but gotta be fair and say that I thoroughly enjoyed that performance....

And live. Hence the un-Hanky mistakes, lol. Cliff had a very pleasant voice, and his rebirth in 1976 [album I'm nearly famous] delivered a row of high class pop records to which I still listen. My favorite single from the sixties is The Day I Met Marie. He's 81 now, it's over (like everything will be), but we still have the records.
Such a great star like good old cliff Richard don't come around to often. The man is a legend
Enjoyed Cliff's playing, but glad to see that Hank was just letting him have a little fun!
Absolutely fabulous.Bravo Sir Cliff Loved this clip
Very good attempt at Apache by Cliff, you can really hear that strong bass of jets , sounds great
Che bella questa musica... Ricordi della mia gioventù. Quando andavamo in giro con un piccolo giradischi portatile e tanti dischi 45g da ascoltare. APACHE era sempre fra i primi...
Oh! My goodness, l used to play the drums and this was the first thing l was taught by my teacher.😊🤔🎸🎼🎶♥ loved it all my life. Moira From England.
Super post, an unforgettable classic!
I'm no fan of Cliff, but must concede that this is more than a fair stab at Hank's wonderful playing. Very enjoyable!
Wonderful to see Jet and Tony, I was lucky to see them in the middle of the summer of 63 at the height of their somewhat shortlived solo success, this was in Margate a week or so before "Britains bright new disc recording stars appeared" who were of course fantastic, however it was Jet and Tony who blew us away, with the best memories still as clear to this day, nearly 60 years later.
1961 I was 5 years old, and I do remember "Apache" coming out on the radio on our local Top 40 AM station. I just did not know at the time who the group was. "Classic"!
I was 1 year's old , but from the radio of my dad comes this beautiful sound .... and remained in my heart and memory !

I was 1 month and a half :-) So I've to give you my respect ^^. This song was heard on french radio stations in the 60's.
I love Cliff n the Shadows this was the group that set the world ablaze with their kind of music
Quite good actually as it is live. Cliff Richard was a great rock pop star back in late 50s and early 60s. Love all of you Cliff, Hank, Jet, Bruce and Tony.
I'm so grateful to have met cliff at one of his shows in cape-town and so grateful to my aunty Delores that passed away a few years ago for taking me to see his show, I was only 14 years old at the time .
Always loved Cliff Richards and the Shadows. Still love him today. Watched all the fun movies too. Great talent. Saw him live in Melbourne many years ago. Absolutely fabulous.

I don't understand why everyone calls him Cliff Richard. It seems to be an urban myth that this is his name. His name is Rift Pilchard.
Badass , its heartbreaking they dont make music like this anymore

I've been lucky enough to have known a band over the last 12 years or so that played this style. Also rockabilly and swing. A few bands actually. I met them all by accident. If you're ever in Delaware look up Michael Davis and the Bullets. They play around elsewhere too.

Why? You can still listen to any music you choose, new or old. What's heartbreaking about it?
That just shows that Cliff Richard could play the guitar after all. Great playing great days. I remember when he played at the Granada cinema Harrow, wow that was some show. Little did we know where it was going to take us over the years.

You'll notice that Cliff has put this on his own youtube channel. How many artists would do that. Here's someone in the top line prepared to take the rise out of himself and his mates and not worry about some snobbishness.

Imagine being a legend who has had hits spanning 7 decades. Top man.

Ich habe Cliff Richard geliebt! Meine wunderbare Jugendzeit! Was hat er noch für wunderbare Songs gesungen! Es waren doch alle Hits! Wir haben so herrlich danach getanzt! Bei dieser Musik komme ich immer wieder ins Träumen!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
At 50, first time I watch this and have totally fallen in love with. God bless you and your music
Love to see Cliff playing guitar.
What great atmospheric music from a wonderfully optimistic time. I really yearn to be there again. Want to cry this morning.
I love these older clips being posted regularly. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you very much Cliff.
Never knew this version that I have heard so many times was from Cliff Richard, whom I also never knew as a musician until now..... love searching through past music which was all before my time but a treasure trove of fantastic music. I'm exposing as much of my generation as possible to all of this!

The power of Fender guitars unleashed.
Sehr gut, beachtenswert die Bild- und Tonquaität.
This is just amazing - had no idea that Sir Cliff was so accomplished on the guitar as well as a fantastic singer. Most of you that are fans of the Shadows and Sir Cliff like me would be aware that Cliff purchased all of the Fender guitars for the group from the Fender guitar factory in Southern California, after they had seen Buddy Holly and his group on TV and from what I understand they were the very first Fender Guitar products to be commercially used in the whole of the UK. What an incredible sound the Fender Stratocaster and Fender Jazz Precision Bass had on the musical world and not long after were also picked up by a small and unknown band from Hawthorne California, originally known as the Pendleton's, Carl and the Passions and then showcased to the world as The Beach Boys.

Just found the band on the tube. American sounding classic stuff. Cliff could really whip up his crowd.
I thought it was Hank at first, then I realised it was Cliff. I heard a mistake in the opening riff.. I thought Hank made a mistake??? .. NEVER! .. then I realised it was Cliff, a few dead notes and mistakes.. but as a musician myself, I give him an “A” for effort & guts.. 👍🏼

Agreed! As a guitarist, he'll always be in the shadow of Hank. (See what I did there?) But he had the bottle.. and didn't do a bad job tbh.

Oh, good heavens, what a kick! Thanks for posting!
My friend and I, along with hundreds of others stood hours waiting outside their hotel, only for them to wave and go back inside, the main road was blocked for miles, with teenagers screaming for Cliff & the Shadows, they were talented and their music is evergreen
No nothing can compare with Sir Cliff Richard.
