Clermont Florida Tour- The Rise, Fall, and Rise Again of Orlando's Fastest Growing Suburb- Ep: 157
Alright, buckle up buttercups! Dive into this "underrated summer travel idea" with Rich (from the obviously world-renowned "Roadie with Rich" KZread Channel) and your Uncle 'Splorin Ryan. We're taking you on a Clermont Florida tour of, wait for it, Orlando's Fastest Growing Suburb. Yes, Clermont, Florida!
Marvel at Lake Mineola (it's a lake, spoiler alert). Strut through the increasingly hip Downtown Clermont. And get ready to have your mind blown in... the lobby of the Citrus Tower. (Because where else would you want to hang? We have our reasons) And oh, can't forget that saunter through Clermont's blast-from-the-past streets of downtown Clermont, revealing how this city somehow became one of Central Florida's shining stars, thanks to oranges and tourists.
But wait, there's more! Remember the 70s and 80s? Clermont sure does, because it almost went belly-up. But like any good drama, it bounced back in the 2000s (maybe due to Y2K?). Dive deep into the Historic Clermont Village (not literally) and get the juicy gossip on a half-century-old unsolved mystery murder at the Harden House. Yikes!
So if you're looking for Florida road trip ideas and desperately want to know which Orlando suburb is the best (subjective, obviously), join us. Let's do just a smidge of 'splorin, shall we? 🙈🍊🚗

So, here is the big question- what version of Central Florida do YOU prefer- Modern theme parks, or historic and roadside?
I live in Clermont. Moved here from Apopka to be closer to school in Lakeland, and never left. We truly love it here. A great place to raise children and you can enjoy yourself on the weekends without going far. Thanks for this video - so cool!
This did not disappoint. Ive been fascinated by clermont since our first road trip to wdw in 2000. I chose to get off the highway and take US27 to 192. Beautiful rolling hills, groves and surprisingly, a lot of derelict commercial buildings. Over many trips and 15 years we saw major changes. Big box stores, housing developments, medical facilities and recreational growth too. At one time i considered this a possible retirement destination but i fear i have been priced out of that area. The old downtown area is very nice and reminds me of many small towns here in Michigan.

Thanks brother- incredible how much the landscape has changed, isn't it?
It was a pleasure linking up with you! Very nicely done and super informative. I am grateful an impromptu salsa dance didn’t break out because I am a terrible dancer 😜

When ya coming to Florida?;)
That was so cool seeing the old picture of the tower surrounded by orange groves. I grew up in Union Park outside of Orlando. I am now stuck in the mountains of South Carolina.

Oh really? Which part of South carolina? Used to spend a lot of time in the mountains of South carolina, but that being said, there's a lot of mountains in South Carolina LOL

Uncle Ryan Uncle Ryan, Clermonts relocation project looks a bit high brow, even though the two ruffians you showed at the beginning looked a little suspect! Whoa, so Clermont is the Phoenix of Florida, very nice. As always thx 4 taking us all along on your lovely tour

Well, for what it's worth one of those reprobates you saw at the beginning is actually a long time veteran of the law enforcement world, so if anything, it's probably just a sting operation ;)
