Been here in clermont since I was born I’m 35 now, and I’m getting pushed out of my own hometown because they will not stop building, houses that are built like shit are going for 350k plus, no more orange groves, I didn’t appreciate it when I was younger since we never had anything to do but man do I miss it, clermont use to be so beautiful and an actual small town, people can’t drive around here, it’s crowed like roaches everywhere, sadly I’m probably gonna have to leave and move to howie or Webster, clermont is not the same anymore.

I understand. I grew up in a small town and that isn’t even that small any More. So many hidden gems are growing faster than can be handled. What’s weird is taking trips to see my dad some of those towns near the mountains are actually losing people due to not enough work. Clermont use to be amazing with orange groves.

You can blame local officials (many who are not even from Florida). They've rezone the land to cater to big developers because they're in the back pockets of them. It's a shame what's happening to this beautiful state. Imagine a nice beautiful orange grove or cattle ranches, only to be replaced by cardboard housing jammed up and then filled with a bunch of loud mouthed, rude and disrespectful yankees. Let's not even mention the 3rd worlders planting their ugly flags everywhere 🤢

Clermont is so nice. There are so many different programs for kids. Also a nice library. 📚 and yes it’s definitely better to get to Disney from Clermont.

Where do you recoomend to buy land and build a house? We would like at least 10 acres. We were thinking clermont or groveland but were not from florida so we really have no idea.

Those areas can be great. I actually was looking at several 10 acres lots with another client looking to build this past weekend. Depends we’re trying to look but anywhere between Groveland, Claremont South towards Kissimmee. You can find those acres. Also depends on your budget and build loan. I personally built my own house looking outside of community so reach out to me and I can help guide you in that direction. 407-915-9816

good question, my wife is Bolivian so Kissimmee will be more established for better food and shopping relating to stuff at home including some immersion schools. who can head to our website to look up public school information. will soon be in Claremont if not already really it's up to what you're looking for nearby as I always recommend exploring!

Does Claremont have decent public transportation?

Yea so there is some basic transportation around the main city but if you are trying to leave clermont to other areas around Orlando it may be a little bit harder. I wouldn’t say it’s the best public transport city but it will get there.

When are the greedy local officials going to put their foot down? Stop building. Omg. What is wrong with this state? Government needs to put a full stop on new construction!!! 😮

I mean I get it, but housing has been in a shortage for decades, we need more. What we really need is tax dollars being spent on better infrastructure to improve traffic flow.

My town commissioner said that the Florida legislature passed a law that basically makes it hard/near impossible for town boards to legally say no to approval of new developments. I get the need for inventory for all the new people moving here, but I'd like to see a better balance struck for development and green space.

  • @orlandorelocation

@@casperthegm741 I get what you mean this is an issue everyone's facing around the country because we're so behind on proper housing. I know DeSantis signed a bill protecting a large swath of land barring development. But I know there is many ties forcing towns to approve development. It's a sticky situation trying to balance both because I do agree many places are getting overdeveloped very fast.

@@casperthegm741 That's sad to hear. Inventory shouldn't be an issue at this point, unless all the news and youtubers are full of it. Sounds like a good amount of Floridians are packing it in and leaving the state faster than new peeps are coming in. The market as started to soften. Florida has always had these ups and downs, but never had the bubble been this big! Seeing homes go up $50-100k over 6-10 years is normal. Seeing homes go up by triple or more? How long can that be sustained. Any who... I decided to stay up north and just rent or do air bnb when I want to come down. I don't see Florida being a great investment at this point. It is a mini version of CA.. Soon, CA might even be cheaper, LOL.

Haha ca is fighting for that card. Visiting my mother in law a 1200sqft home in her neighborhood of San Diego is going for 840k and has offers within 5 days.
