Damn I can't wait for part 3 and I really hope we get a mallrats sequel. Clerks 2 might be one of my all time favorite movies.

They filmed some portions in Orange County California in my area Buena Park if you go into the Directors commentary smith even said he liked it out here it was cool they even closed down knotts berry farm for him & the whole cast & crew

I’m surprised nobody freaked that people are filming. I’m so stoked for this honestly. People say what they will about Kevin’s work.. and I get it. But I really always held the clerks films close.. both one and two were great! I really hope three is worth the wait!

I agree with you. And to be honest, even though they gave me their blessings, they weren't that wild about me filming. As you can see halfway through, they set up a line of people to block my shot. In fact, when I went back on subsequent days, they had food trucks and other movie equipment set up so we couldn't really see from the corner we were on. I totally get it.

@@JeffGiovanniello it makes sense...a video like this will get buzz going and be free promotion for the movie... However: if he let you make a video like this every day with an unobstructed view, then you could basically have the entire Clerks III story line on tape BEFORE the theatrical release! this would be a disaster for a product and film company trying to make their money back and turn a profit. And speaking of people not freaking out that they were filming: Kevin talked about going back to his childhood home and meeting the family that lives there now. He said he had never stopped there before because he didn't want to come across as some kind of weirdo who shows up and says "I used to live here!" But once he finally got the courage to knock and introduce himself, he was amazed to learn that not only did they know who he was, they had saved an original piece of artwork on a wall that Kevin's sister (I think) had done as a kid! I mean here's Kevin Smith, arguably the creator of the independent film genre worried that people who live in his childhood home won't know who he is. I've never lived in New Jersey but this laid back, unassuming style is what drew me to Clerks and Kevin's other work.... It's a what keeps me coming back. Just fyi: to get real up to date info, I recommend listening to or watching the Fatman Beyond podcast with Kevin and Marc Bernardin.... Or the Smodcast show. I've gotten SO many great bits of history and insight by listening to these shows.

This is cool! Hope to visit the Quick Stop one day! Haven't been a huge Kevin Smith fan for quite a while, but i saw Clerks 3 the other day and it TOTALLY EXCEEDED the already high expectations i've had for years after the great sequel Clerks 2. Honestly a perfect trilogy!

I was there! Lucky enough to be on as kevs assistant, lunch pickups, check in on stuff he may need on hand, ice tea mostly! Second production of his I got to be apart of. Dudes a gem! (Pink shirt around 20 min with my hyperactive ass, woop)

I worked as an extra on the movie the very first day they started filming. Kevin Smith is a great guy. Considering it was his birthday as well.

To be fair, the Jay and Silent Bob films are ment to be over the top, like a rauchy comic or cartoon. This sould be more of a slice of life with their character being moments of comic relief but we'll see.

David said hi, but Al commented on my striped shirt and we struck up a conversation about it for a few moments where HE brought up Dennis. Seems Al had lost his own shirt somehow and Dennis gave him his. I met Mike and Bruce backstage at another show in 2019, also in Atlantic City. Cool guys all.

Correct. I called it "3" in this so it would come up in search. It was actually always going to be called "III". I read Kevin's post a while back where he said, normally a studio doesn't like a 3rd sequel because then only the fans who saw 1 + 2 go, with hardly anyone going to 3 if they haven't seen the other ones. But in this case, they felt there were enough cult fans of the franchise to carry it.

Clerks 3 was a Completely dèmôn possessed show. The blàsphémy is a new hollyweird record. Dîsgustîng. Couldn't get passed 20 min. I only got that far because it was like slowing down and watching a car wreck happen
