If FSU had the $572 million exit fee, they would have left but since they don't they'll stay there through 2036. Also notice how FOX, CBS and NBC can cut Ohio State and the Big 10 $7 billion media check but not one of those networks will write a measly $572 million FSU exit fee check. This means that they're worth that much.

Telll me you dont know what you're talking about without telling me..... its not about leaving the conference. Its about the ACC saying "were keeping your TV rights after yoy leave so you cant profit off of your own brand on TV and we value them at $500M even tho we arent paying you that much over the next 12 years." And on top of that the ACC is knowingly accepting less than 2 other conferences but when the conference was signed they promised to look out for the members of the conference. They are failing their confernece memebers and teams want out.

All of those former schools seen the writing on the wall and decided to take action. Nobody in the ACC in 2016 could've foresee the cataclysmic shift that was Oklahoma and Texas joining the SEC in 2020 and what that has done to the football landscape. So in turn the big10 had to respond, and the schools that had prestige and value were plucked from the pac12 and those schools were more than willing to leave because they saw what was about to happen. Which is the SEC (ESPN) and the big10 (FOX) were about to pull away from everyone else financially and FSU just like the other schools are trying not to sink. Don't get mad at FSU for the mess the SEC and big10 created

you seen that the SEC is sticking with 8 conference games as well as giving the same teams just vice versa with home and away for 2025?

Also if NC, nc state, Miami, VA, va tech and Louisville head for the hills no one pays a dime cause that would mean over half of the member institutions that were parr of the deal have agreed to shread the deal and leave. So there is a avenue where people leave with no penalty

CFB needs a fucking commissioner fast. This shit is the Wild West and it’s every player, coach, and school, conference for themselves at this point. Give the sport an overseeing body and govern CFB so shit like this doesn’t happen.

The acc can kick a shool out of the conference its in its bylaws. By the acc interpertation of the gor they can keep the media rights to a school even if they are kicked out. This is what clemson is arguing is that what is the difference between leaving on your own vs being kicked out. Would the acc still pocess those rights.

I think that the two will lose because they cannot call it 'duress' when they keep signing the ESPN paperwork. In 2016 ESPN gave the ACC a lower contract than the SEC. In 2024, ESPN gave the ACC 17% vs SEC 29% for the 2026 college playoff expansion. Both schools have signed it. Therefore, it is not duress.

Except now the SEC has announced they will keep at 8 game schedule for next season 46 minutes ago Alabama released what their SEC opponents will be for the 2025 season it's the same as the 2024 season its just flipping what the way the home and away games are

I am old enough to remember the Bear tricking GT into leaving the SEC. I hope the Big10 winked at them and tricked FSU.

A quorum of ACC conference members can decide to dissolve the conference. It's in the ACC by-laws. The entire conference would be better off going this route after losing Clemson and FSU. If they both leave, it collapses the conference, anyway.....

It's also in the bylaws that the conference can vote to remove a member. If the gor is iron clad would that mean the conference can kick out a team plus retain their media rights after the conference kicks them out like the acc claims.

I as a spokesperson of the WVU fan Conglomerate, it is hard for me to not selfishly root for the downfall of the ACC for a few reasons. 1] they left us out and i hate them for it 2] I want the teams to join the big 12....but with that being said..... I do agree that the situation is ridiculous and it is very sad for the sport. The greed knows no end to the point where it is tainting the very lifeblood of the sport that has been so generous to them. if the big 12 gets picked apart again (God forbid) than college football will be truly a shell of its former glory. Even if WVU ends up in the SEC eventually, it will still be a sad situation. unless it comes full circle and the power 5 schools all have a landing spot in regional divisions of the power 2.

If FSU and Clemson say that they're no longer ACC members then ESPN should reissue their 2026 college playoff expansion paperwork citing them 10% as independents like Notre Dame vs 17% as an ACC member.

This is NOT what I mean when i yell,"Go Tigers!" Im not digging the proposal to leave and/or disolve the ACC. Call me a "traditionalist," and I'll gladly wear that title up to a point. It just hurts to see money tear apart a conference for a single sport. Have the other teams at these two schools and their traditions even been considered. What of the basketball, baseball and soccer traditions?? This doesn't feel right. This feels kinda like it did when my favorite hometown team left for another town for money and not the fanbase. The member schools didn't sign the grant of rights extension. Only the original. Clemson's lawsuit is absolutely correct that the ACC cannot convene only select schools and vote that schools like FSU and Clemson have no voting rights any longer yet owe the conference their media rights. The contract is no longer the point of argument but the governance by the conference. I'm convinced FSU makes an announcement by August and for a fee much more favorable to them.

Since we can't see the contract to verify, I have to think that the lawyers for FSU aren't blatantly lying when they presented that information to the courts. I believe this is why Clemson has waited to file their suit so they can have the best approach based on the information they have learned from the FSU case. This is one of the reasons these schools argue that the ACC has not acted in good faith to provide for member schools as best they can.

It’s in direct violation of the contract language. That’s the whole point of the suit man. The payments made for the ACC exit and grant of rights need to be applicable to a contract ending in 2027 not 2035. Normally you are spot on but seem to be acting ignorant on this topic. Oh poor Uncle poo. For the longest time you were saying that FSU was stuck because of the grant of rights, and now you're saying that they'll leave but only after "they pay a big sum of money". The truth of the matter is that the ACC as a P5 conference is dead once FSU leaves, and the point of the lawsuit that FSU filed is essentially lead to a settlement with the ACC over the GOR. Now that Clemson has now filed that settlement will get even cheaper for both Clemson and FSU. More than likely the settlement will be kept secret from the public for a multitude of reasons, but as this thing continues to unfold its quite evident that not only are FSU and Clemson essentially gone, they're also not even gonna pay half of what the original GOR was calling for (572mil) to get out of the conference. Your biggest clue ought to be the fact that ESPN hasn't yet decided to extend their deal with the ACC (the GOR) through 2036. They have until 2027 to do it and have yet to take action. Odds are whenever these 2 schools settle, the settlement itself won't be made public, which is a shame

Terrible and uneducated take. The money isn't completely lopsided yet. FSU wont be able to compete 4-7 yrs from now. Thats why desperation has set in. If you think Vanderbilt and Miss state deserve more money than FSU and Clemson you are 🤡 also the FSU board of trustee's didn't sign the GOR and are on record being strongly against it. The AD signed the GOR and at the time it was a very competitive deal in comparison to what other conferences were getting

The acc was also very misleading on the deal and the president of the acc had the deal with the CW network to keep acc games on the channel cause his son was a high-up at that network. There is alot of information that's most people aren't aware of. And honestly I don't expect fans of other schools to be in the complete know of the lawsuit
