I’m a little confused.. I thought this car seat had a rigid latch but is the rigid latch only in forward facing mode?

  • @MagicBeansVideos

It has latches for rear facing but the preferred method of install is with the seatbelt. The REACT latch is only used while in forward facing and is unique to the Clek Foonf.

Hi there! The Liing base is only for the Liing car seat. The Foonf base is integrated to the seat and does not come off.

OK my question is why brag about rear facing so much? All the research shows is yes it is indeed safer rear facing for a front end collision going 70mph. However what about a rear end collision going 70mph? How will a 3 year old, with crossed legs, be ok? There legs will impale there chest and kill them most likely. It's also higher risk of broken legs. Why is there no research on extended rear facing with a rear end collision?

  • @MagicBeansVideos

Just so you know, 70% of collisions are front end collisions. And most rear and collisions are when cars are stationary. And also, parents turnaround their children way too early, so it bears reinforcing again and again.

@@MagicBeansVideos Thank you for explaining. I been smacked 5x in 9 years. Front impact was 55mph and at the time my 1 yro was forward facing. Rear facing was hit at 15mp. 3 side impacts where at less then 30mph each. Lucky all have been minor. But yes kids under 2 100% rear facing for sure.

@@MagicBeansVideos question we replaced all 6 car seats from the recent hit on 2/18. I got my 16 month old the Diono RSXT I believe. I got it all setup properly like you showed. However I don't know if the rental van is just cranky in general or if im missing something. I see no indicator on the seat saying if the seat is level like suppose. I also noticed whenever my son falls asleep his chin is in his chest with his head slumped forward. He has severe asthma and restricted airways as is and it's frankly terrifying to see him in such a position. What am I possibly doing wrong? When I flipped him forward, as an experiment, he slept fine and no chin on chest or head slumped forward. During the last decade I never been more confused by a seat then I am now.
