Nice vid. I was looking for an example of drilling out the heat exchanger tubes. Thanks.

If you could be so kind as to supply me with drill bit size and length I would be ultimately grateful.

Somehow my RayPak heater has gone 30 years without this service.

That looks like a commercial application. My guess is they run a salt system and or use a lot of chlorine. I'm sure with a commercial pool running 2 big heaters like those it must be a good size pool and I would guess they keep it heavily chlorinated. Just my thoughts, I might be wrong completly. I know that i just ripped my 12 year old raypak heater appart and though there was some tarnishing to the copper heat exchanger, it was like new compared to that one. That amount of calcium build up did seem a bit excessive.

This is an awesome video. You really helped me out with the scale I had inside my pool heater. Can you give me any details about the drill you use to clean it?

Just had some questions on the installation of the particular pool heater you're working on. #1 I did not see a pressure relief valve on this particular installation and wondered why? #2 I did not see a sediment trap drip leg before the gas valve on this particular unit and wondered why? & #3 knowing these pool heaters are installed in an unconditioned room I was wondering why double wall vent pipe ( B vent ) wasn't used from the pool heaters to the flu stacks? Much appreciated if you could comment on my three concerns.

Hi there I’m running into this issue on high end homes in Arizona. I need to buy a set up like this to drill out heat exchangers. Get the debuting tool as well. Can you send me details.

Uh that pool heater has not been running right for some time... I mean for the thermal reg to get that bad... that thing hasn't worked for months... that looks more like thru the roof alkalinity and the tech using calcium based chlorine. Something. But this was not a situation where the heater was working fine on Friday and come Monday it's completely destroyed. Great video though.
