Needs a corrosion resistant check valve and an inline zinc anode installed on that thing.

You need a check valve only if you have an inline chlorine feeder after the heater . The salt unit poses no risk damaging heater without check valve. Regardless the water being a salt pool will pose a danger in shortening the heaters life in general for being a salt pool. Unavoidable. Key is to maximize longevity as much as possible.

Why not just go get a DPDT R82 relay and be done with it instead of waiting on rheem to send one. It’s a $10 part at any supply house. And charge the contractor.

I’m surprised no temp delay? I would think Ream would had an ambient temperature control for the relay🤔 But regardless great job getting her up and running and everyone happy

Blows my mind how contractors still only install a single speed pump on a brand new pool in 2024. Cmon man the client probably spent 150k and cant even get a variable speed pump lol

You don't need a variable speed pump. That only causes flow issues and a slower time filtering rate buddy.

I agree. I have a 2.75HP variable speed pump, runs at 1400 rpm 24/7 and 1850 to heat pool and 3400 to run my sheer descent falls

@@PipeDoctor Honesty the variable speed pump is good if you want less noise in the pool pump area. Definitely alot quieter When you think about it , variable speeds are marketed to use less power for savings. So poor pool owners think they will be better off with an expensive pump. Rich guy like yourself that can pay his electric bill don't need one. But the variable speed looks cooler and are very quite. So for showoff purposes its cool.

@@jasongeo2 you must be smoking crack. Its proven that a variable speed pump not only saves hydro but also makes a cartridge filter run more efficiently. It only causes flow issues if you run it at an extremely low speed. I have one myself and never had a single issue. You must be the one still installing these in 2024 lol
