Wonderful, Josh and the exercises you sent me for developing a relaxed and light fingering have really helped.

These videos have been so helpful for me in revisiting the basics. You should make one on register slurs and to keep a good oral cavity shape. I have been struggling with this, particularly in downward slurs.

Another excellent video, Josh. I think it's a testament to your teaching skills that you can give examples of faulty technique so that less experienced players might recognize those sounds and then know how to fix them. I was wondering where starting ones air in the diaphragm fits into the variables of air. Thanks

I’m glad you liked it! Using the abdominal blowing muscles helps to contribute to the air pressure in that it keeps the diaphragm engaged and as down as possible which keeps the lungs more open and provides a larger volume of space that the air is coming from which contributes to high pressure air based on Bernoulli’s Principle which you can read more about here: clarinet.org/science-in-the-art-of-the-legato-2016-research-competition-winner/
