Is this compatible with Google pixel phone? Also, do I have to plug the Ethernet cable?
@DemCrumblies
20 күн бұрын
It will be compatible with any phone via Bluetooth, but there is no dedicated app to install on your phone. I have it paired with my Samsung S24 Ultra, which is running Android like your Pixel and I can still use it to record and transcribe and summarize phone calls or any media playing from my phone like KZread videos, etc. You can set the HiDock H1 to auto record all phone calls or you can disable that option too. If you wanted to transcribe specific audio like from a KZread video or live stream or something, you can manually start recordings like you would for a meeting. You don't need to plug in an ethernet cable for it to have internet connectivity once it is connected to your laptop, so it uses the internet connection from your laptop (whether your laptop is connected by WiFi or ethernet cable). If you want, you can plug in the ethernet cable into the HiDock H1, connect the HiDock H1 to your laptop via USB C cable, and your laptop will get internet connectivity via the HiDock H1 if you turn off your laptop WiFi. Hope that all makes sense, but TL;DR, no you don't need to plug in an ethernet cable if your laptop has internet already.

One more question if I may: I can see the transcripts and summaries, but I can’t seem to find a way to download/edit them. Any advice here?

When you go to the hinotes.hidock.com/ website and open an item, at the top right, you can click the three horizontal dots and export them to edit it. You can also click into the text to make basic changes like text changes.

Have you figured out how to edit the transcript on HiNotes, like if it doesn’t get the speaker ID correct how do I break up the paragraph in order to fix it. 😊

Yep, it's quite easy, you just have to click into the text and you can start to edit right from there ; ) Btw, if you're going to have a meeting recorded, it will help if at the start of the meeting, you introduce everyone who is speaking: www.hidock.com/blogs/user-manual/speaker-identification-made-easy-with-hinotes

@@ericcervantes7376 Oh understood. I think you have to use the option at the top right to export it as a TXT file, then modify it from there then. Might be worth a shot to contact HiDock support about it because it seems like something you should be able to do natively in the dashboard without having to export as a TXT file to edit.

Can I plug this into my personal PC and record/transcribe audio on my work laptop?
@DemCrumblies
2 ай бұрын
Yep you can. Since it can stream audio to the dock's speaker, I noticed that when I was watching videos on KZread, if I activated the AI transcription feature, it would automatically do it for the streamed audio. It did it when I streamed audio from my phone as well.

@@ramulus84 Yea actually at first I wasn't sold on the ChatGPT powered part of this, but after I saw how well it transcribes and structures things, I plan to use this for webinars and stuff like that too where I have it open while I'm working and I'm just listening passively, then I can get a full summary with key points all nicely structured and the full transcript if I need it.

Doesn’t every app and service have built in noise reduction? What is the use case for infinitely adjustable noise reduction with that slider? Don’t most people just put it to 100% and forget about it?
@DemCrumblies
Ай бұрын
Hey @check537, likely the aggressiveness of the noise reduction algorithm will have some bearing on overall audio quality while it processes it, so the slider lets you achieve a happy medium. Also, some users may not want total voice isolation because a bit of ambient or background noise can lend to a more natural sounding conversation. I sometimes keep a fan on while I work to cool down or if my PC is rendering video and the fans are ramping up, then I'd slide it more aggressively, but if the other party reports that I'm coming through loud and clear, I may not even need to touch the slider in some cases. While some apps and services may have noise reduction, I haven't used any that are this effective at cancelling out noise and this does it bi-directionally.

Nope, but this is probably your best chance of limiting or filtering out that noise, especially if you're able to close the door to your room and it's just ambient noise from the kids that it has to deal with.
